“Charming small hotel with character”
Reviewed August 17, 2014

We were delighted with our three night stay at this quiet, charming hotel on the outskirts of Manosque. The room was clean, comfortable and tastefully decorated with a modern well appointed bathroom. I would describe the style of the room as rustic but with a modern twist. We had a lovely view of the pool and the French countryside beyond. A real plus point was the almost silent air conditioning! Breakfast was a plentiful, cold buffet which included fresh rolls, pain au chocolat, yoghurts, fresh fruit, cheeses, etc. with an above average choice of preserves. There is a large balcony off the breakfast room where you could also sit if you chose to. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pool was clean, quiet and with comfortable poolside beds but is strictly limited to those staying in the hotel. Our visiting friends were discouraged from using it. The hotel does not serve any meals but underneath the hotel (separately run) is an excellent restaurant which is not to be missed. This is an ideal spot to either chill out or use as a base to tour. The area is full of interesting towns; villages and beauty spots.

Room Tip: We would ask for a room on the pool side of the hotel - the views are magnificent. Some rooms have...

We are from Colombia and Uruguay but live in Houston so we are used to American standards, that being said, the hotel was Very clean, comfortable and Cousy the view from my room like in movies! Perfect. The room decoration very French and romantic, the owners very welcoming and you can notice they take pride and care of their hotel!
Definitely coming back!

We stayed at Hotel Pre St Germain for 2 nights in July 2014. The hotel is very beautiful (provencal style), nicely decorated, very clean and located in a quiet area of Manosque.
We were a group of 8 people (family), and we all enjoyed staying at this quiet and relaxing place.

Our favorite: the pool (beautiful lounge chair), clean and fresh water. The bedrooms: nicely decorated, spacious. The restaurant: delicious meals!! the breakfast: overseeing the country with beautiful landscape, peaches, yogourts, it was the way to start a perfect day.

The icing in the cake goes to Phillipe (Hotel Manager) for his true sense of hospitality.
Not only is Philip very professional but he will go the extra mile to make his guests feel at home.
Merci beaucoup pour ce merveilleux sejour!!!

I loved my stay here, my room was tastefully decorated in provencale style and very comfortable and clean. The grounds are attractive and well maintained too. I made use of the pool and the little shady seating area under the olives. It's situated on the edge of town, so pretty views over the town and countryside. The staff and management were friendly and helpful. It is a bit of a walk to town, uphill on the way back, but I enjoy walking so this was fine. Very relaxing stay.

Manosque is one of pitoresque towns in the heart of Provence. Compare to Aix en Provence is very quiet, with small old part with nice, little restaurants where you get very good food. About the hotel - it is on a small hill overviewing Manosque and in typical Provence style - light and cheering colour combination, full of flowers and surrounded by private villas, this will allow you to relax as much as you want. I had a room with terrace, clean and cozy (as i got used to hotel rooms in Paris, this really got me by surprise as the room was really of a good size, the same for bathroom). Hotel has got also swiming pool, however was not operated yet (just started to clean it to prepare it for a season). Breakfasts are typical french with nothing warm except coffee or tea, but it is highly appreaciate during hot summer days, so no complaints. You can choose of different jogurts, two kinds of salamy (one of them is a dry ham of a good quality), cereals and fruits, and bagets with croisants, certainly and combination of different kinds of jams and honey, no starving here :) Hotel does not have receptions 24/7, so there is a 5 digit code for late entries. What is a MUST SEE or MUST VISIT, is restaurant attached to the hotel, with the same name, but as i was told, different owners. Want to try high quality of french food served in little charming restaurant visited by Michelin critics? Go to this restaurant. I have enjoyed here every course i have choosed, they can advice about good combination with local wines of very good quality. Nice and young staff, very helpful (as usualy English is not a first choice language, but will try their best to describe your course so you would really be courious what you get). Don´t worry, there should not be a bed choice as all courses are delicious. Once you are there, you can go for a tour into local factory with museum L´Occitane, wander in town or go to Aix en Provence for a bit of night life. No wonder Cezane has falled in love with this region and painted every part of it. Can only recommend.

Room Tip: 17,18,19 - those should be rooms with terrace - i had a room 18 and both rooms next to had a terrace...

This is a great hotel. Excellent rooms, newly refurbished and well appointed. Breakfast was adequate, without being out of this world. Since this is France, the coffee was excellent. The staff was polite and helpful. The bed was comfortable, and the room was quiet.

The location is a bit out of the way but we knew this when we booked so it wasn't a problem. It takes about 20 minutes to walk to town. We weren't able to try the restaurant since it wasn't open yet when we were there.

Loved my big room (#20) and overall stay at the hotel. Friendly staff, clean, charming. Will be back for sure if I ever need a hotel in the area.
Only regret is not to have tried the restaurant which everybody raves about.
