We have been touring the Haute Alpes for some days, and this is one of the best places where we have eaten. The restaurant is in the village of La Grave, at about something less than 2000 m. The location is very nice, since it one of the few restaurants not located on the main (and only) road that bisects La Grave; you have to climb down a rather steep little path till you find the dehors that is the day eating place of the restaurant.
We had lunch, and all 5 liked what we had: different kinds of patés with onion confiture (amazing!), magret (breast) de canard with a light and savoury sauce tasting of orange (among other things), an aissette (choice) of cold meats, the raclette and wonderful desserts. Since it was very hot: no wine!
The service is average, the panorama outstanding with a view of La Meije, the glacier in front of La Grave, a bit hot under the awning. We had a look at the inside room while going to the toilet: very nice, rustic decorated with notes of red (cushions, napkins, etc.). Good value, we paid about 27 euros each, but really worthwhile
