We stayed for a couple of nights following four nights at the Yaktsa sister hotel up the road. The Miramar is a lovely hotel and larger with more communal areas and a better atmosphere. It is a better choice for families and couples looking for more to do. There is a lovely pool area, and place for sunbathing with steps into the sea and better dining and bar facilities. However, it is busier and you have to book your sunbed in advance unless you're happy to pay for the four poster beds or the VIP areas. For couples looking for a quieter stay, opt for the Yaktsa.

We ended up with the most basic room, which faced the road and hill. It was lovely inside with good quality furnishings, but we missed our balcony and sea view following our stay at the Yaktsa. However, the additional facilities at the hotel and slightly cheaper drink prices made our stay more enjoyable overall.

We dined at the a la carte restaurant and enjoyed our meal of lamb and risotto. Again, the prices were too high at €14 for a small strawberry tart and had they been more reasonable, we'd probably opted for the full three courses!

Car parking is charged at €10 per day. We did not know this until we checked out. Fine if your have a sports car, but it turned out to be more expensive to park our hire car than it did to rent it each day! There was no parking charge at the Yaktsa.

Both hotels are lovely and good choices if your staying on the French Riviera, however be aware that no breakfasts are included in the room rates, there are no in-room tea and coffee facilities and complimentary water is only provided on the first night. Standard sun beds are included but you have to pre-book. Prices are higher than most luxury 5 star hotels we've stayed in.

This hotel was comfortable with a beautiful view out to sea. We received a very warm welcome from the reception staff. The lovely ladies who run the 'beach' (a concrete bathing deck) should be commended to for their attentive and exceptionally friendly service on the one day we did manage to secure sun loungers. The problem with the beach was there were no sun loungers available unless you booked at least a day in advance. Instead we opted to spend our days at an excellent private beach in Theoule itself that belongs to a restaurant called La Magellan and comes highly recommended. Be aware however that Theoule is a 10-15 minute drive from the hotel. Back to the hotel...there is one beach restaurant for breakfast, lunch and dinner and I agree with other reviews that this has a diner feel (albeit a smart one)! Breakfast was excellent but the lunch and dinner menus were limited, expensive we found them to be uninspiring. The service away from the beach we received was patchy to say the least (maybe the staff aren't quite up to speed yet - we understand the hotel has only been open for 4 months since its renovation). One evening we had to call 3 times and wait for 40 minutes for a bottle of water to be delivered to our room. Also, there was an interlocking door between our room and next door which wouldn't lock and the handyman couldn't fix. Thankfully we could access their room but they couldn't enter ours so we were trusted not to raid their minibar for the duration of our stay! Also note that the Boutique doesn't exist yet!!!!

This was our second stay at Miramar beach hotel and if you ask me to return I can do it instantly again. The boutique hotel has gone under e renovation which was visible not only in public areas but a complete refurbishment to the guest rooms giving much more comfort and luxury keeping the style to the oriental line. The service is a very strong point of the hotel and although during the period we stayed the structure was completely booked, you are lovingly cherished in the french style. You have smiles from your arrival to the daily communications and to the last moment of departure. You get used of reserving a table for you lunch by beach restaurant and to the beach seat although some people find it strange. Madame Magalle (sorry if I didn't wrote it correctly), Manon and Jeremy are so professional and prudent to satisfy everyone needs. Management staff is present "in action" to have chats and keep an eye on performance anywhere. The beach is very nice and you have your own privacy while in Cote d'azur beaches are a bit overpopulated during high season.

Room Tip: Higher floor, sea view , central part

Junior suite with oscean view. If you can deal with the arabic inspiration, this luxury hotel is quiet, has comfortable beds in spaceous suites, great service, good breakfast and a nice heated pool. Privacy! Boutique not finished; bring all amenities for kids. In short; a fantastic hotel in a fantastic location with a spectacular "brick beach" (finally...sand just sticks to things it should't).

We spent our week holidays in Tiara Yaksta last year. "Sister" Miramar Beach Hotel (MBH) was renovated that time. This year we have chosen MBH because of location. We have been fully satisfied. If you prefer comfort and quietness, choose Yaksta. If you prefer comfort, location and the sea, go to MBE. You will be satisfied in both cases.

Well. Writing a review for this hotel is a challenge. First of all, some of the reviews I have read on TA are clearly fake. This is a nice hotel but nothing impressive about it. First the good things. The management has really tried to welcome us and were very attentive. They have also upgraded us to a royale suite (over 300 square meters!). Ali in the bistro restaurant is really a pleasant and welcoming chap. The SPA is also better than some of other places I have been to and certainly much better than the rest of the hotel in terms of service quality. That is where all the goodies come to an end. When we showed up in the hotel on the first day, we had been told that we did not have a reservation at the beach. So we had the option of grazing in the fields above or fork-up 250 euros for a cabana/dome. The beach restaurant has a diner feel to it looks more a like a cafeteria than a beach restaurant. There is a bizarre stench at the entrance of the beach restaurant which they claimed to be orange tree perfume. I beg to differ. We ordered room service which did not arrive ! Finally, we had a 350 sqm suite but only one bed to sleep in it. We were told that they ran out of extra beds due to heavy demand. This is more of a beach club with a something that is trying hard to resemble a hotel attached to it. I am still baffled why anyone would pay to stay in a 350 sqm royale suite in a hotel that does not have room service? There are better places to stay in this price range imho.

Room Tip: Stay at royale suite

Dear Pasham1,

We would like to thank you for your message. It is always important for us not only to get feedback from our customers, but also get the opportunity to answer, explain or contradict.
First of all, allow me to contradict your comment on fake reviews. Having different point of views, or even different experiences (although we do all efforts to make all experiences great!) is a fact and is reflected in the reviews of the Miramar Beach Hotel. It does not mean that other reviews (experiences) or our integrity should be denigrated.

With regards to the beach sunbeds, we are sorry if there has been any misunderstanding. Clients of the Hotel have a free access to the sunbeds on the beach or in the gardens (which your refer to as “the fields above”). Balinese daybeds are at supplement and indeed, there are two VIP areas where from 4 to 6 people can stay (this is what you refer to as “Cabana/dome”). Cost for these VIP areas is indeed 250 euros which, when divided by 5 or 6, and considering the amenities we provide, is not so significant.
I am sorry that you could not have beachfront sunbeds and I wish this dissatisfaction could have been compensated by the upgrade youi had previously received in the Royal Suite. Talking about the Royal Suite, it is a fact that is only has one bedroom but it is connecting to 3 rooms nearby for those who want more sleeping rooms, and to be honest, the Suite is really large. I can only encourage our readers to check the photos and floor plan on the website to figure out.
I prefer not to discuss much on the appreciation of the décor and the Restaurant ambiance as I understand this is really a matter of personal taste. The one last thing that desserves an apology in your comment is the situation you encountered with room-service. I shall investigate and make sure we take all measures to guarantee an excellent service for our customers wishing to be served in their room.

Again, we do thank you for sharing your comment although I would have been delighted to share them onsite, allowing us to improve and interact in a more positive and constructive manner for the very best of your comfort with us.

Yours sincerely

Jérôme MONTANTEME

Just back from a one week stay at the Miramar Hotel and spa with my husband and two children (2&10). The hotel is a short walk from a three or four restaurants and a small sandy beach and is also well positioned for a short drive to other locations including Cannes. The hotel itself is run by very friendly and helpful staff which makes the stay that bit more relaxing. Although this is not a family orientated hotel, the children were made to feel welcome and had a great time in the pool and sea. For me, it was just missing tea facilities in the room! Sad to leave and would definitely go back.
