Our family of 4 went to the Vieille Auberge on New Years Day for lunch. Despite the fact that Cassis, a normally sunny bustling fisherman's port, was grey, rainy and closed up for the most part, this restaurant offered a warm, inviting ambience and a place to have a celebratory lunch. I imagine the staff and owners were exhausted after the festivities the night before, but it didn't show. They were very attentive, the food was fresh (very fresh fish especially) and all in all, we had a very relaxing first day of the year and a lovely meal. They truly gave their all with smiles on their faces. We will return again on a sunny day with visitors.
