A real stunning restaurant in an atmospheric back street one street behind the main harbour and 50% cheaper for equivilent quality cuisine. The owner was a great host and displayed teh fresh fish available that evening and both the food and service lived up to all the plaudites detailed in previous reviews. Would definitely return again.

We found the restaurant on TripAdvisor - lives up to all it's reviews. Service was FANTASTIC - the owner truly loves his food and loves to see people having a good time at his restaurant. Really felt welcome and the food was excellent (we had the Plat de Jour - good piece of fresh fish). Our daughter had great mussels and a chocolate dessert to die for. The place was full and a family arrived and sat at the next table - it was in the sun, so the owner (unrequested) brought out a parasol for them - his attention to everyone made the experience one we'll always remember....

We found this place on a hot day and lucky got a table. At first impressions you don’t expect much, but there were a lot of diners already eating. We decided on the cheapest menu (13 Euro), which consisted of “Dish of the day”, Ice cream and Coffee. Water and ice were placed on the table (no charge) and that was quickly followed by a rabbit stew. Great dish of rabbit, mushrooms, bacon in a tomato sauce, served with pasta and bread. We were offered a choice of ice cream and/or sorbet. Wrap this up with coffee and you have the recipe for a great value and tasty lunch. Looking at other dishes, quantities were very good. Forget the tourist places on the harbor front and take to the back streets, this is a great place

Even a last-minute reservation got us a table on a busy Saturday night, and we had a very enjoyable and reasonably priced meal. Service was friendly and considerate. It was way too hot for fish soup, so we went for the mussels gratinee and cold shrimp with mayonnaise. Both fantastic! Being great fans of grilled fish, we opted for the grilled dorade, which was incredibly fresh. Desserts were apricot tarte and chocolate mousse, the latter house made but the tarte looked purchased. No matter, it capped off a fine 25Euro meal. Afterwards, a leisurely walk along the harbor, wondering if the crowds at the portside restaurants were eating nearly as good as we had.

Good food and friendly genuine service made this one of the better of our 22 nights out in Provence. We stayed in a rented apartment for a week. Most of the other renters (who all spent at least 7 nights in Cassis) recommended this restaurant in the apartment log book.

So despite the tourist town and despite the good TripAdvisor reviews the people who work and cook at this restaurant are still trying hard - and succeeding. (June 2012). A happy crowd of diners, all the food looked good. Ours was good. Traditional menu for the area - lots of fresh fish, fish soup and other med. dishes. I recommend this restaurant.
