Description: "For the ultimate fine French dining experience, you can't go past La Villa Madie restaurant - an offshoot of renowned Chef Dimitri Droisneau. Set on the seaside between the rugged cliffs of Cap Canaille and the Mediterranean sea, this Michelin-starred restaurant boasts stunning sea views, and the Deco-style dining room - with an elegant chocolate and cream colour scheme - has a divine summer terrace for al fresco dining."

I'd give it 5 stars, but the price for eating here was really painful. Beautiful terrace overlooking the Mediterranean, outstanding service, and excellent food. Probably deserves a star. But the most expensive meal I've ever had.

This is an impeccable restaurant that has a gastronomic and a "petit" cuisine. We had a "casual" lunch at the petit cuisine overlooking the Mediterranean. The food was extraordinary. Everything was made to perfection and the service was extraordinary. We met the chef who was very kind to take pictures with us. They also have another restaurant in Aix-en-Provence that we also tried. http://www.closdelaviolette.com/
Chef Banzo, thank you for an unforgettable lunch!

This is a great restaurant. I don't agree with the previous review. This restaurant is definitely a michelin star restaurant. The Price Fixe dinner a E135/person was tres magnifique. We started by the glass with a great rose champagne and then a Rose from Provence. We ordered a great Tempier Bandol Red from 2000. The food was great starting with a nice petit fours appetizers of 3 items, then our first appetizers, ...... I wish I have time to tell you more but you have to try it. The view was amazing and the atmosphere was unique.

We were recently at Guy Savoy Michelin restaurant 2 weeks prior and the food was comparable. Our 2 kids were treated like royalty. Merci Beaucoup!

You come to expect that dining in a Michelin starred restaurant delivers a high level of cuisine, atmosphere and service. Well if you do don’t go to La Villa Madie! There are no inventive dishes, and one dish (parmesan ice cream) was really horrible. Also the staff were more interested in a large table of people, that appeared to have something to do with the restaurant. My advice is to avoid this place, unless you want to pay a lot of money (96 Euro each for lunch) for a great view.

Everyone's perception will be a bit different of course, but certainly the common thread will be that the Villa Madie on some level is an experience. That is the whole premise of the Michelin star system. The stars are not given haphazardly but with criteria of personnel/guest, time form stove to table, nothing prepared in advance, decor, location, and many more... Necessarily this is not your every day place. For the Villa Madie, the location has a breath taking unmarred view of the Cap Canaille, to be enjoyed from a rather vast terrace for outdoor seating. That in itself is almost worth the price. The food makes every penny worthwhile as well. Service as expected for the category of restaurant.
So if you are looking for an evening out of the ordinary, shoot for the stars, you will find excellent "normal" restaurants everywhere. Not a Villa Madie.
