As a lover of good French Food this restaurant ticked all the boxes. The waitress was excellent nothing was too much trouble, she even went and checked in the dictionary for the correct translation of the fish course. (my schoolboy French was non existent). We started with a little appetiser while we chose the main meal, they have several set menus which vary in price up to 29 euros. The food was to a great standard, which one would normally expects in a 'proper' French restaurant. The food presentation was great and the time between courses excellent. The decoration and surroundings were very pleasing and generally a great dining experience. It was made even better by the 15% discount we received by being recommended by the Best Western Hotel where we were staying for the night.

We ate here on Sunday December 29th whilst on a city break in Niort. The restaurant was quite busy for a quiet Sunday night at Xmas, but we had no trouble getting a table. The food was excellent, with a little appetiser being offered whilst we looked through the menu. The waitress was very helpful and explained some of the more unusual dishes. The snails were fabulous and done in a rich red wine sauce which was a first for me, as they are more usually served drowned in garlic! We both had a steak for main which was cooked perfectly. The local cheeses we had for final course were "aromatic" and very tasty. We had a couple of drinks each and the total bill was a very reasonable 55 euros.

We were taken by friends to this restaurant, who had been there before. There are few restaurants open on a Sunday evening but this one was. We had a pleasant meal, a bistro style, with a good ambiance, and excellent service. Good value for an evening meal, worth a visit.

We use this restaurant fairly regularly as it offers a superb two course lunch with a glass of wine for e13.50, ideal for shopping days in Niort. Today they excelled themselves. The choice of "market fish" said nothing - turned out to be Lieu(?) Noire, not my number one choice, but it turned out to be the best cut - thick and no bones - superbly cooked, then add a light curry sauce with many mussells and a rice accompaniment, this could have graced any restaurant at twice the price and still been considered superb. Add an excellent cafe gourmonde and a glass of wine. Superb service, no asking for more water or anything required, the young man was there but not on top of you. All just right. Easy to find, with back to new park and the row of restaurants and cafes in front of you, this restaurant is the one on the far right.

Took the reasonably priced menu of the day and was very impressed. Ambience good. Staff were helpful but not overbearing.
