Nestled on the shore at Calais overlooking the Cabines on the Beach this is a find. Comfortable Roooms (No shower Curtains and Hip Bath Only) good beds and great Pillows with a Superb Restaurant. Starter Buffet had wonderful Seafood Selection and service and quality were excellent.

Room Tip: Rooms with Sea View are worth the extra

Stayed in the De La Plage when returning from trip to Germany.
Its good for overnight on the way to ferry/tunnel.
Rooms are clean and good size .
The best thing about the De La Plage is the food the buffet starters and desserts on the set menues are superb eveything you could want and you can watch the ferries sail in and out if yo are bored.

we stayed at the hotel as a stopover from a holiday in spain because we were driving the whole distance. The hotel is reasonably clean but just very basic. The staff were excellent and mostly spoke English as well as other languages. The breakfast was very good for the 7.50 euros when we stayed, the staff were certainly friendlier than a lot of the french we needed to talk to on our journey. The hotel is on a par with say travelodge which we have stayed at before and find quite noisey. Wheel chair access and ensuite, we just wanted a rest so it was good. The directions via booking .com were not accurate and it required a bit of searching out.

Room Tip: we stayed on the ground floor and I suspect the hotel is just a functional place to stop, the maid w...

We have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions as a last stopover before heading home and after a tour of France. It is very functional and the staff are friendly and efficient. It has been refurbished since our last visit and is quite pleasant. Its in a good location and ideal and close to the supermarkets for a final spendup!!.

We stayed here after a holiday in France, this place was fantastic for a stop over, very close to ferry and euro tunnel 10 minutes - bedrooms were basic but clean and OK can be noisy but you just switch off - position of hotel on the beach was fantastic, it has its own restaurant which was superb from a salad bar to lovely fish, steak - see website for options.
Opposite hotel is the beach with promenade and great for the kids/adults there is a crazy golf course.
Great place to just park the car to drink, eat and sleep.

Tip: get to the hotel early for a front of hotel parking space - other wise there is parking behind the hotel but make sure nothing is visible in your car because we heard that break ins is possible. but the hotel car park is lit up so deters break ins. disable parking at front and also plenty disable parking on the promenade just opposite hotel

Room Tip: down staires rooms can be noisy from people walking around upstairs

Great find for a rest after a journey from Scotland in car. Plenty of car parking and friendly reception staff.

We had to wait a while as there was some confusion over our room and we ended up with a family room (double and single bed) sadly the single bed ruined the room for me. The room was a good size but squeezing in the single bed meant we had to step over it to get to bathroom and the luggage had to be kept on it as it took up all available space and blocked the 2nd door used to access car park.

The rooms also have very little soundproofing and being pet friendly was noisy at times.

Otherwise pleasant stay, when we returned to Calais a week later we stayed in different hotel which better suited our needs. Otherwise we would have returned.

As a couple we stayed two nights at the Hotel de la Plage Calais on a weekend break to visit Bologne and Dunkirk. Our room was clean and the bed was comfortable with lots of pillows. As our French is limited we found the staff extremely helpful and their English along with their patience was really good. The restaurant food was great offering a plat du jour and their amazing Fruits de Mer which we sadly missed as we went for the slow cooked lamb - delicious. Our buffet breakfast set us up for the day and this was a leisurely affair, everyone polite, lots of nods and bonjour's. We didn't feel out of place at all as the hotel and patron's were very welcoming. As for Bologne we found their farmers market filled with home grown produce, again a friendly atmosphere. It is only 30 mins from Calais. We should have bought more tomatoes - the best I have ever tasted. Dunkirk is a large town and difficult for us to get round as we had never been before. We found the beaches by chance as the map from the tourist board wasn't the best. We eat over looking the beach watching the sail boats at a lovely restaurant L'Oree des Sables - Sarl Cap Nord, surrounded by French patron's who smiled at our attempts at ordering. The staff here were very obliging and spoke good English and helped us with our French too! As for the weather well surprisingly mild and sunny. Just what we needed. Thanks for our lovely break we hope to get back soon.

Room Tip: Check about the sea view from your room. We didn't have one but the hotel does face the sea and...
