We stayed one night on our way back from south west France. The hotel is ideally placed for Calais ferry ports or The Channel Tunnel. Our room was large clean and comfortable. No complaints except they do allow dogs, so as I am allergic to them I was not happy to see them in the hotel.

Room Tip: We were on the second floor and it was quiet.

We had three rooms here for 3 nights at the end of a family holiday in Europe. This hotel is ideally placed for first or last night in France but there are plenty of attractions in the area worth visiting, which is why we stayed a little longer. We "shared" the 3 children across the rooms - most of the rooms can only accommodate a single child's bed alongside the double, so if you need space for 2 children in one room, I recommend you book early. We also got great rates by booking early. Have seen some complaints about the quality of the beds, but the beds in our rooms were all pretty new and we all slept well - including the kids in the put-you-up beds. Also, special word for the exceptional standard of cleaning - couldn't fault it at all. The rooms were spotless on arrival, and were kept spotless throughout our stay. Very helpful staff on reception too, and the pool was big enough for the children to have several hours of fun over the three days of our stay.

Room Tip: Not all rooms have a fridge - add to your booking request if this is important for you.

Traveling back through France I needed somewhere to stay that was near to the tunnel. It is very convenient for that and for being able to shop in a supermarket 4 minutes drive away that is not packed with tourists such as Cite Europe. The hotel was tired. It had that hotel smell about it and the decor of a typical 70's style hotel. The rooms were pretty basic but Ok. The bathroom was not clean. The sink was ingrained with dirt. I opened the window and went for a drive to see if the room smelt cleaner when I got back. (fortunately it did) Good points for the british is it has a good selection of English speaking TV channels.

The buffet style breakfast was less than I expected. Considering the price it was not the best quality. It would not be on the top of my list to stay at again, unless they could convince me it had cleared up.

Dear Sir
Thank you to have taken the time to comment on you stay at the Holiday Inn Coquelles.
We are constantly renovating the hotel, in 2010 we successfully completed the Holiday Inn re launch program with major changes; Logo, lighting, 50% room refurbish, quilts and pillow change; we are changing the hall furniture in autumn and finally replacing all mattresses in our suits and executive rooms as programmed . I apologize for the bathroom; I personally carry out a systematic room check every month to ensure the cleanliness of the rooms meet the high standards you should expect at the holiday Inn Coquelles. We always strive to have the highest possible quality for the breakfast buffet with a large selection of fresh pastries, freshly brewed coffee, hot and cold buffet and ensure this meets Holiday Inn’s standards.
We look forward to welcoming you back to the holiday Inn Coquelles to experience the changes.
Kind regards

We stayed at this hotel for one night as it was convenient for the tunnel. The hotel itself was nice and clean with lovely bed linen and the room was spacious. However the mattress on the sofa bed was really thin even for children. I found our bed comfortable and had a good nights sleep, although one of the guests in our party ended up on the floor and hardly slept at all. just as a recent review states it maybe time to invest in new beds. Breakfast was good with a selection of fresh fruit, juices, yoghurts, pastrys etc, but the full English breaskfast was as previously stated best avoided.

Beautiful room- had a good night's sleep there!
Someone actually had the sense to put the hair drier under the mirror in the bedroom rather than in the bathroom, where it gets steamed up!
Evening meal and breakfast both good.

Room Tip: We had a room on the first floor overlooking the reception are! It was rather nice.

Location very good - 2 minutes from tunnel yet in quiet countryside location.

Accept dogs.

We had a family room which was labelled 'executive room' yet the air conditioning didn't work (30 degrees outside!) and wifi was poor (albeit free).

Bar expensive - €7 for two halves of Heineken.

We stayed here for one night after a long drive through France. It was the most expensive hotel of our trip at 160 euros. We had an *enormous* 'Executive' room with a double bed for the kids and us. Our bed was soft and lumpy and we didn't sleep particularly well. There was no way of curtaining off the kids part of the room, which was a shame. The room and bathroom were spotless and well appointed on the whole. Breakfast was OK, although we had to contend with a couple of coach parties. The hotel is very close to restaurants at Cite de Europe - although you will have to drive there - 5 mins.
