“A bit rough around the edges”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

Stayed here as it was close to tunnel. Ideally located for that. Reception staff freindly and welcoming as were all the staff. The room was a good size . Comfortable bed and the bonus of tea and coffee facilities in the room. What disappointed was the peeling wallpaper around the room making it looked tired and shabby. Restaurant meal was good but a little 'pretentious' although breakfast had an exellent choice ( so it should for 15 euros!). With the room costing over 115 euros so added to an evening meal and breakfast the total bill was 164 euros, and for that money i don't expect peeling wallpaper.

We (2 adults, 2 children, aged 3 and 1) stayed in the hotel on our way back home from our holidays in Cornwall. The room was clean, but stuffed with two double beds. In one of them the two kids were supposed to sleep, which was a bit riscy becaus my son tends to fall out of bed at night - luckily he didn´t this time. Dinner was all right, nothing special, but the house was not prepared for small children: Bis porcellaine plates, only big cutlery... The staff was nice and helpful and able to speak reasonable english. Breakfast was all right but little choices and cold tea.

Comfortable spacious room (executive) ideal for myself and my two children. Staff helpful and friendly and many could speak reasonable English. Evening meal OK but nothing special. Breakfast buffet excellent with a wide choice including a juicer to make freshly prepared orange juice-a nice touch.

My only criticism was the health centre. Swimming pool was great but the men's changing rooms had several lockers that simply would not lock and many had loose catches that would seem to require a simple screwdriver. Also the gent's toilet had been left in a disgusting state.

Used this hotel whilst in transit - the food was excellent - far better than expected. The staff were very helpful and friendly, particularly the restaurant manager.
The only downside was the cost of the breakfast, which in all fairness was extremely good, but we felt it was slightly overpriced.

The location is very good. Perfect for a late arrival , a good sleep and an early a
start to drive south through france. Really more of a modern Travelodge than a holiday Inn but I think the excellent value at €62 for the night reflected that on a quiet July Sunday night. I will definitely stay here again as I recognise it for the benefits to me. Free WiFi was good. loads of car parking. Welcoming cold beer at the bar. The rooms are all a bit tired and in need of a remodelling investment. Good bed linen, good pillow choice.

Recently stayed after a 5 hour trip down from Manchester and Eurotunnel crossing. Typical Holiday Inn, a bit basic upon first impressions but clean and safe car parking (which was a major concern for us with all our camping gear & bikes in our van!)". Easy to find after visiting the Carrefour at Cite d'europe. Friendly check-in. Good selection of english channels, including ITV 4 so we decided not to use the pool facilities and had a selection of bread & cheeses that we had just bought & watched the Tour De France highlights! Stayed on points, was offered a breakfast deal but we wanted an early start as we had a long drive so just checked out & had breakfast on our way.

Travelling from the north of England to continental Europe this is a good stop over having already travelled nearly 6+ hours & 400 miles.
Hotel is situated outside of Calais, to the west and has easy access from Eurotunnel / motorway.
Travelling with our dog, the hotels grounds and nearby beach makes good location for her to stretch her legs also.
Hotel is typical Holiday Inn business style but pool and other facilities are added bonus.
Have used this hotel for last 3 years as stop over and would recommend for anyone looking to do the same.
