“Stopover hotel”
Reviewed June 26, 2013

If you are desperate to have a place to stay close to the port area then this is fine as clean and functional, not sure I would feel happy wandering around the area late at night though. Food adequate but not exceptional and room clean and functional. This is fine as a stop-over for weary travellers but wouldn't spend more than one night.

Rooms were clean, helpful staff at reception, british tv channels in room, but I must say expensive breakfast. I had a look at what was on offer and I don't think I'd even feed my dog the food they were serving. Especially for €15 per person. Don't bother with the breakfast, and go to the Boulanger pattiserie round the corner by pl d armes, and get yourself some freshly baked pain au chocs or croissants or anything but the hotels breakfast!! In room tea and coffee facilities are good!

Room Tip: Don't get the breakfast! Rooms are all good!

Love coming to this hotel. Bought the dog for the first time. Stayed night of June 13
Spotlessly clean room. Helpful and friendly staff.
Love the sea view
Close to lots of bars and restaurants
Think should be 4 star and not 3

For travellers who have driven a long way this is a hotel to be extremely wary of if you have booked a space in their garage. Access is by a very small car-lift, the inside of which is well marked with scrapes and dents caused, presumably, by unwary and tired drivers trying to negotiate a safe entrance to the garage. It’s company policy not to allow staff to valet park and a reluctance, it seems, even to give any help in manoeuvring a vehicle into the lift.
The hotel itself is dated and rather tired. The redeeming feature is the restaurant and especially the breakfast but overall this does not warrant the very high room prices.

Dear Sir,

I have already explained you the reasons why our staff members are not allowed to drive guests' cars and the readers will easily understand that the receptionnist may not leave the front desk to take the cars to the parking. We do not advertize a valet service at our hotel.

The damages that you have caused to your car should be covered by your insurance company. There is no reason for you to claim the hotel to refund these expenses.

Our hotel offers several parking options: underground car park, private garages, closed parking or parking in the street. We never force our guests to park their cars in the underground car park when their cars are too big. Car parking remains the clients' choice.

Regards

Ok place to stay. Staff was helpful. I had called and booked 2 rooms, one with an additional cot. Got there and no cot but the evening manager fixed the issue himself while we went out to get a bit to eat.

Parking was free on the street but it did fill up.

Not very clear on which breakfast is the 10 euro and which is the 15. Got over charged for one. Kids did eat free.

We stayed in this hotel because of its location to the ferry terminal as foot passengers. It was a bit of a walk for kids with suitcases in tow. Note in town shuttles to ferry service don’t run for early Sat morning ferries.

This is the place for you!
Comfortable, clean and very close to the ferry port.
Yes, can be noisy but it isn't unpleasant. A squall arrived when we did, so we heard all the fog horns going too.
The square behind the hotel is having major road works which start very early and are quite intrusive.
Get a French breakfast in the square at one of the cafes for half the price and enjoy the experience.

Room Tip: If you are a heavy sleeper or don't mind closing your window, go port side - much more to look a...

Thank you for staying with us. I am glad you liked the view.
Sorry about the noise from outside. As you say, Calais is going under major renovations and noise is the bad side of it.
