Sailed with my ferry link. Infinitely preferable to the other companies. Clean airy boat, smiling helpful staff. I do hope that the EU don't shut them down in order to keep a danish big company in business. My ferry link is a co operative of the old sea France employees and I for one would rather put my money in the pockets of employees than shareholders any day.

MyFerryLink gets you to and from France. But that's all. There's no joy in it. Compared to the other channel operators their ships are very tired and old fashioned. There's always massive queues to be served for food and drinks because they simply never have enough staff and there seems to be no organisation in terms of queues.

Go with them if they are cheaper but if the difference is small, go elsewhere

We travelled to Calais on a Monday, for a Celebration Dinner in France, then travelled back on Tuesday.
Firstly, the Ferry was on time and spotless, including the toilets, 2 things important to me. The staff were cheerful and friendly and the croissants we had in the bar area were 'melt-in-the-mouth' and 'homemade' by the chef on-board. There was a variety of interesting rolls and sandwiches, some small for the lighter appetite and not the doorstep offerings and forearm size baguettes which often pass for snacks. Coffee was good too. We didn't go to the Cafeteria so can't comment.
The shop had an interesting array of items and I bought perfume for my mother and some wine and chocolates.
We were unloaded and away quickly and had the same hassle-free experience after a happy time in France.
We will definitely use Myferrylink again.

The number of ferry companies operating on this route can be counted on one hand but there are several discount booking companies offering what, at first, looks like a good offer.

If you have any doubts about the possible return date, time and number of passengers or a combination of all three, DO NOT BOOK WITH THESE COMPANIES. For almost all possibilities the alteration fee will far exceed the price of a completely new single ticket. My advice would be to just book a single outgoing ticket and then book the return much nearer to the desired date.
