“5 * for old times sake but....”
Reviewed November 15, 2013

Perhaps it is symptomatic of the difficulties Calais currently faces - reduced visiting customer demand, the strength of the Euro, the frequent transport related strike actions, or the ever increasing number of immigrants camping out in the hope of an illegal entry into the UK - the City is starting to hurt and Du Vignoble au Verre seems to be an early casualty.
What was once a rising star amongst a varied and capable restaurant scene appears to be on a downward spiral. Opening times and days seem to be arbitrary - it was closed on a Thursday evening the last time I tried to visit. A shame but until Calais cleans up its (Corporate) act we can outlook more of the same...

“Excellent Meal Last Night”
Reviewed October 19, 2013

4 of us dined here last night. I chose this restaurant based on TA reviews and wasn't disappointed.

Had meals off both the 19 and 23 euro menus, and all food excellently cooked and presented. Waiter very friendly and helpful. Very nice surroundings as well.

With 4 3 course meals, and two bottles of wine, very good value at 105 euros.

“French Cuisine, Wine and Service at its best, in a small, friendly, family-owned restaurant.”
Reviewed October 2, 2013

The food and wine was excellent, even on the modestly priced set menus.
Eric's friendly and efficient service in his family owned restaurant made our day.
We can't wait to go back!

“More of the Same”
Reviewed September 30, 2013

Popped over for some cheaper wine and cigs with the other half last week. Another excellent lunch here on the 18 euro menu. Really cannot praise it highly enough. Lots of wine at 20 euros or less per bottle and friendly and efficient service from Eric. Parking in the square is becoming more of a problem as it is turned into a meeting ground for the illegals who are queing up to use the benches now in place. Lot of the shops are closing and trade is down 30% on last year apparently. So if you can find somewhere to park, do go whilst Du Vignoble is there to enjoy.

“Fantastic food and wine , and very friendly owner.”
Reviewed August 25, 2013 via mobile

As we were getting the Euro Tunnel back at 9.36 PM we phoned to book for an early dinner, they do not normally start service until 7 pm. However the owner made an exception and opened at 6.30 to allow plenty of time...this was certainly a good sign for what lay ahead.....I won't go into to specific detail but needless to say the food is absolutely wonderful, fantastic wine list and some of the best and most friendly service we have ever experienced...If you have any spare time at all in Calais this is a must for those that appreciate well sourced produce and beautifully cooked food...we look forward to our next visit.
