“what a find!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 7, 2013

I agree with every other review. Just adding my support! We had a delicious lunch: €10 for one menu with a seafood stew (tasted really fresh), crepe with choice of 3 fillings and desert and €7 for a menu with green salad, same crepe fillings and desert crepe. All very tasty, filling and excellent value in a traditional little restaurant. You can of course just order crepes a la carte, they're around €5 for a 'simple' one or up to €9 for more fancy fillings. I will definitely return!

“excellent creperie, great choice”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 12, 2012

After looking at the other creperies in town, we liked the look of the set menu here. For 10.50 Euro each, we had a seafood casserole starter (fantastic) then choice of savoury galette fillings – 3 from a list of about 8, and a sweet crepe or traditional Breton prune cake (far breton) for dessert. Accompanied by a cup of cider, this was the ideal meal, unhurried and surrounded by tables full of French couples and families enjoying Saturday lunch. A real find, we will return.

“Fantastic crepes near the port”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2012

We only had a short time before we had to catch a ferry so we went into Calais to find a restaurant. We were a bit worried they would al be very touristy but we found this lovely creperie. It looks a bit run down from the outside but inside is much better. The crepes are fantastic and not expensive.
Everyone else in there was Frech, which I think is always a good sign but the menu had English translations and the staff were very friendly.

“Simply the best in Calais . . . . .”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 14, 2011

We found this restaurant by chance back in 2006 and have been visiting it regularly ever since. Whenever we have a Day Trip to Calais we call in for lunch (. . . . many, many times). Always a pleasure, and always a perfect home-cooked lunch. Well used by the locals - a very good sign. Quick and very pleasant service. Ideal for families. Extremely good value. If you are in the town, try it. They deserve your support. You will NOT be disappointed.

“Simplicity and quality at a low price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 31, 2010

Perfect "stopover", 5 mns drive from the Ferry port of Calais. Instead of eating on ferries(usually quite expensive and average food), get off the ferry, drive to Calais Centre and park for "free" on Place d'Armes "car park". Creperie "La Bigoudene" serves savoury and sweet Pancakes with fresh ingredients. Try the menu at 7 Euros per person which includes a small green salad, a savoury pancake (with a choice of 3 fillings) and a sweet pancake. Really good value for money. Last order for "lunch" is 2.30pm.
