When travelling through Calais, we often take a break to have dinner at le Venezia before catching a late night Eurotunnel back to UK.
They have an extensive Italian menu, and the staff are very friendly (some English spoken here). The service is good - one of the waiters is a real character - singing his way through the orders! The pizzas can be recommended.
Plenty of locals appear to frequent this place and all indulge in conversations with the staff, which all adds to the cheerful atmosphere. The decor is a bit stereotypical, but it's fine.
Now when can we manage a trip to France again??
