“Perfect Location”
Reviewed September 12, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

La Source Tranquille is situated in a lovely little town. It was only a short walk to get fresh bread and croissants in the morning. The gite itself is very quiet as there is a wall around the grounds. The owners were very welcoming and helpful. We appreciated their advice on getting into Paris by train and suggestions as to what to do in Paris on a rainy day. The gite is really well equipped. The beds were so comfortable that we all overslept. The children enjoyed the use of the garden and the games room.

“Beautiful cottage and perfect garden for children”
Reviewed September 1, 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at La Source Tranquille and wouldn't hesitate to go back if we're in the area again. The house itself is extremely comfortable and tastefully furnished, with everything you need provided for your stay. The children loved playing football, badminton and boules in the garden (with a little help from the resident cats) and it was lovely to be able to relax or have a BBQ on the little garden terrace when the weather allowed. The fact that we were perfectly placed for a day in Paris, a day at Chantilly and another at the Asterix park meant that there was a day out for everyone. Many thanks to Adrian and Vanessa for being such friendly and welcoming hosts !

“Wonderful”
Reviewed August 19, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Staying at La Source Tranquille was a wonderful relaxing experience. Vanessa and Adrian are great hosts who made us so welcome and we felt totally relaxed in their lovely accomodation. It was so nice staying in a picturesque quiet village with great patisseries in walking distance. The lovely garden setting with private outdoor seating area was great and the accommodation very light and sunny. The open planned kitchen, living area and bedrooms are tastefully fitted out with the right mix of character and contemporary furniture and has quality modern kitchen and bathroom fittings. Everything was clean and tidy and it felt really homely. There are many attractions to see in driving distance. We had a great day out visiting the war memorials at the Somme and the beautiful town of Arras. We would definitely recommend La Source Tranquille.

Plenty do do out and about the region, and really fast travel into Paris.

“Fantastic Accommodation”
Reviewed July 26, 2015 for a stay in March 2015

Arrived on the 24th of May and stayed for 6 nights after 4 nights at Euro Disney. Our party consisted of 2 adults and 2 children age 7 & 4

The gite is located in the large garden of the owner’s property it is beautiful and very well kept with nice décor. The Kitchen was well equipped and it was a really nice touch to have Tea bags, coffee, milk, juice and Champagne in the fridge on arrival. The beds in both rooms were very comfortable the twin beds were quite high a bit difficult for little ones to climb in but they found this fun.

The owners Adrian and Vanessa were very welcoming and were on hand for any questions and advice on restaurants but left you to your own devices. The gite has its own large garden great for letting the children burn off energy as well as a trampoline there is a rope ladder in one of the trees which kept the children amused. There is also a BBQ on hand with a nice seated area. The owners also had two cats that the children adored and would have happily bought home.

The children really enjoyed walking to one of the patisseries in the morning for fresh bread and cakes. There is a small supermarket in the town and a lovely butchers / Deli who were very helpful everyone was very friendly. We eat in a pizzeria restaurant by Mouy train station food was fantastic the menu was varied, lovely fillet steak. Great for the kids, children’s menu €7.50 seems to be a standard price for children’s menu however the food was adult sizes and of very good quality. The seafood gratin to start must be tried. The food was so good we went back the next night. We also eat at another restaurant Auberge les Tilleuls in Heilles food was again very good but not a lot to offer on the children’s menu.

Train station is a 10 minute walk, very easy to get the train into Paris, we went on a day trip to the Eiffel Tower caught the No 42 bus from the Gare du Nord, didn’t want to use the metro with a buggy. I would book tickets for the Eiffel Tower online to avoid the queues.

We also visited Monet gardens and Chantilly.

A lovely time was had by the whole family and will definitely return.

“Truly tranquil”
Reviewed July 24, 2015 for a stay in July 2015

What a beautiful place to relax on holiday. I travelled with my husband, his parents and our pooch; there was plenty of room for us all to feel comfy. The gite is very tastefully decorated and has everything you need for your stay. The location is a perfect and certainly tranquil. The gardens are beautiful with a stream running through. The high stone walls make you feel very secluded. The sunloungers, table & chairs and BBQ make spending time lazing outside very easy to do. The mature trees providing cool shade for those who can't worship the sun for too long. The hosts, Vanessa & Adrian are a wonderful, friendly couple who are there to help, offer advice or even share a bag of wine!!! :-)
The village of Mouy is a great base for your visit with an ample supply for bakeries/a small general store and a couple of supermarkets just a 5 minute drive away. There are a few takeaway places and restaurants. We tended to cook most nights and found the kitchen stocked with all utensils necessary (the dishwasher was a welcome addition and you'll love the bin and under-cupboards lights!).
There are many places to visit by car or train. Paris is only an hours drive or go on the train. Chantilly is 20 mins and apparently beautiful - it was far too hot the day we went so just had lunch & wandered a few streets on the shady side. We would recommend Greberoy (just NW of Beauvias) for a stroll through the cobbled streets, beautiful architecture and stunning flower displays. There are cafes but check when they are open.
Cycling around Mouy is great as the roads are smooth and not very busy. There is a store at the gite for bikes.
This was a great holiday and we will certainly be making a return trip. Can't recommend it highly enough. Great for up to 4 people, very comfortable, clean and homely.

“Comfortable accommodation and great location”
Reviewed July 6, 2015 for a stay in June 2015

My wife and I spent two weeks at La Source Tranquille, together with our 9-month old daughter and of course the family dog.

It was our first drive outside the UK and we chose a destination which was not too far from Calais. The drive was about 3h for us, which was manageable.

Mouy is a great location to visit surrounding towns and for Paris as well. We ventured into Paris one day by train, although it was much easier to drive to see other places in the area due to baby-related logistics!

Adrian and Vanessa were very welcoming and helpful throughout our stay. The gite itself is comfortable and well equipped. I would suggest that a curtain is needed at the main door for full privacy.

The garden is very nice and well suited for relaxing on a very hot day.

The local Vet in Mouy charged 50 Euro for confirming that our dog was given the required de-worming tablet before driving back to the UK, which is more than we had anticipated.

Also there is a 16 Euro road tax per way, if you are driving down the A16 autoroute from Calais.

All in all, we had a very nice time and would recommend the gite for a quiet and comfortable holiday in a great location.
