We started our 3 week trip to France at this beautifully appointed, peaceful hotel. Having driven straight from Charles de Gaulle after a 24 hour flight we too experienced some difficulty in finding the Marotte. Luckily it was a Sunday so it was easy to park the car and walk 'cross country' to the hotel. Estelle happily accompanied us back to the car and directed us to the hotel where we had booked parking inside (recommended). Luckily, we didn't need to move the car again until our departure 2 days hence! Lunch can be difficult to find on a Sunday in Amiens so Estelle organised a pizza for us which we ate in the comfort of the dining room. We had the full breakfast each day which, while not cheap, was fullsome and kept us going for the day. The quantity and quality of the food provided certainly justified the price, and we were always offered additional servings etc. This boutique hotel is extremely well fitted out - as other reviewers have detailed- and Estelle and her husband are wonderful hosts. They deserve to do well with their business. Yes, there are cheaper accommodation options in Amiens, but you get what you pay for and the quality here is more than commensurate with the price. No detail is overlooked - including assistance with your luggage, if required. If I was ever fortunate enough to be in Amiens again, I would definitely stay at Hotel Marotte.

What a wonderful gem of a small inn. It was the delight of our 2 1/2 week holiday. Thankfully, we found this hotel on TripAdvisor. We were going to stay at another one recommended and then we saw this one. It made others look tacky. Lovely, refurbished, large, glorious hostess and right in the city center. Wonderful windows opening outside, a terrace and excellent towels and linens. The bathroom was a dream bath for an American. They offered a breakfast for a price, but they needed to know the time you wanted to eat and when we travel, we are never sure about times so we didn't give it a try. Excellent accomodations.

Room Tip: We had a suite on the street and with the windows open it was a tad noisy early in the evening.

We stayed here overnight to finish off our brief tour of northern France. This is a lovely hotel; small, so it offers personal service but with very attractive rooms and helpful staff. Like many other reviewers, we found this hotel difficult to find despite the best efforts of our satnav. However, a simple call to reception resulted in the manager's husband coming to find us and to guide us back through the streets. Do not let the difficulty in finding the hotel put you off! We had booked two rooms and both were spacious, tastefully decorated and well appointed. Both rooms had both baths and showers (particularly useful to have the choice of a shower if one has mobility issues), tea/coffee making facilities, mini bar, plentiful cupboard space, an area to sit in and hefty sound proofing doors. We enjoyed an excellent dinner in a local restaurant recommended by Estelle; she also negotiated a welcoming glass of champagne on arrival. We also very much enjoyed a couple of hours in the hotel bar playing cards. The hotel is very central; only a couple of minutes walk to the cathedral or any of the restaurant/bar areas. All in all, a lovely balance of quality and value and we would heartily recommend Hotel Marotte to anyone.

Room Tip: I think all rooms in this hotel would be of excellent quality. We chose a Cosy room (I have no idea...

This is where anyone who wants a luxurious hotel and room to add to their enjoyment of a lovely stay in Amiens should seek out.Estelle is the perfect host.We required restaurant recommendations and also transport to visit the Australian war memorial in Villers Brettonieux.Estelle arranged it for us.Our room was on the front corner facing two streets and was very light and spacious. Double glazed windows ensured an extremely peaceful nights sleep.the beds are so comfy with a light and cozy doona. The bathroom really needs to be seen to be believed its so modern ,large, clean and has a beautiful modern bath shower, separate toilet, large shower .The toiletries are beautiful they match the feel of the sparkling mosaic tiles on the walls. On returning to Amiens we would certainly stay again.Very elegant hotel.

This is a really delightful place to stay, with a wonderful mix of modernity and classical elegance. I found it by chance really, but wouldn't bother to try anywhere else if returning to Amiens. It is extremely well situated within the town; we actually used it as a stop for The Somme battlefields.
Estelle was so helpful, and made our stay trouble free. Our upgrade to the Penthouse was a wonderful treat.
Can't wait to return!
Tip: the fig marmalade ( home made) is delicious!
You can book one of the 2 parking places in the courtyard, in advance.

Room Tip: The Penthouse was wonderful.....!

I had a one-night stay in this hotel and was extremely impressed with the style and quality of the decor, the comfort of the room, the fabulous bathroom but most of all the lovely staff.

I arrived alone by car with my satnav having failed me due to the fact that Amiens has recently turned its one-way system on its head. After a frustrating time of trying to beat the system to get to the hotel, I parked near by and went in for help on foot. The very sympathetic and kind lady on the front desk actually arranged for a porter to come with me to my car, get in and then talk me back to the front entrance. Fantastic! She then let me park in their forecourt for 15 euros - less than I would have paid at a public car park overnight.

Later in my stay a kettle and an adapter plug were provided on request with great charm and willingness to please.

It was a welcome break after a long and tiring drive alone and I couldn't have been happier with the room or the service. I would highly recommend.

Our family had two rooms here for two nights and we loved the place. One of those hotel rooms you take photos of certain features and think, "Yeah, I might do that".

We were on the second floor and had a large room - the only issue being the air conditioning. It was warm and there is no ability to change the temperature in your room; you get to listen to the AC but not feel any benefit from it.

Breakfast was nice - all pre-ordered the night before and even if some of the items which arrived did not precisely match what was on the form, it was delivered in such a friendly way you don't really care. Located in the middle of Amiens and in walking dustance to the main commercial streets and the Cathedral. Wifi worked well and is free.

Really a lovely hotel.
