I walked from our hotel and found my way to the Cathedral, and it was well worth it. When I arrived there was a service going on. Normally I don't like to enter during service, but on this occasion I did. The music was really beautiful and the organ had that typically wonderful French sound. It was a really moving experience.
The buidling was beautiful and I thought well worth the visit. I particularly liked the fact that there was an easy entry at the side for those who have mobility issues.
The outside of the building is realy stunning. I approached from the rear of the site, and even that was amazing. People often visit places, but do not look at the wonderful exteriors . The workmanship on the exterioir again merited a good look.
On the advice of the hotel staff I went back in the evening to see the light show. There were amazing numbers of people there. It felt safe because there was security on all entrances to the square with bags etc being checked. It was interesting how people took in the show. On the steps in front of me, amongst tthe many hundreds there, was a group of about 15 young people who were so well behaved and watch the show throughout. The use of colour and music was very enjoyable for me, although I can concede others might not find it so.
I advise you to go and look for youselves and make your own judgements
