Had a lovely evening meal value for money some of them on the mont are a little like cafe food so we felt pleased to get a table here with a wonderful view.
staff friendly and efficient uniforms do not say much for some of them but it may not be there choice. Better to eat on the mont as not much choice outside.

I checked carefully the restaurants in Mont Saint-Michel to avoid "tourists trap" and this resturant is right. 28 EURO's 3 course is really nice and reasonable. I and my wife ordered Mont Saint-Michel's omelette as starter, steak and lamb as main, creme brulee and chocolate mousse. Especially, the main's meats are very delicious, I could say the alomost same level of high quality restaurant.
Other good point is to provide food very quickly. And the staff are friendly and kind.
As I looked at many awful review in other typical "tourists restaurant" (just my feeling, "tourists restaurant" has Japanese menu), I was very glad to choose this restaurant.

Happened to find a decent lunch value, nice service, quiet relaxing spot. We had a glass of wine, mussels and frites (those weren't so great) and dessert for 15 euros.

It was with a bit of anxiety that we made a reservation to this restaurant considering the many lack luster reviews on Tripadvisor about it and all the other Mont Saint Michel restaurants. We are glad we did! We were staying at the Mercure just outside, which was perfect to visit le Mont after 4pm when the hordes of tourists are gone. We booked dinner for 7pm but showed up at 6:30pm without any difficulty getting our table. The restaurant was fully booked so make sure to make a reservation in advance to score a window seat. We did not get one but it was still a fantastic view. If you cannot get a window table and there are only 2 of you, make sure to request a table that is parallel to the windows so both of you can see the view otherwise one of you will miss out. We both had set menus, one for 28 euros, the other for 35 euros and a bottle of cider to share. Skip the wine list that is not that impressive and rather pricey. Cidre bouche is the local specialty anyway. We tried the omellete soufflee which has an unusual consistency but otherwise bland. You will need to use salt, pepper and butter tomake it nicer. Still worth trying as a once in a lifetime experience. The 9 oysters (#3 size) were excellent. Main courses were gilled lamb cutlets and pave de boeuf with foie gras sauce on the side. Both were great but be warned that lamb in France is much more flavorful and the cuts of beef more inclusive of tendons and fat. The french fries and excellent veggies (green string beans and ratatouille) actually made the difference. Cheese plater of 3 normand cheese was good especially with the associated fresh salad with great dressing. Dessert was ile flottante snd vrepes flambees. Got to try them! Service was perfect. The only minor annoyance is that we were seated close to the flapping kitchen door which made a minor bang each time it opened. After a while, you stop noticing it. My recommendation is to go there in the evening and avoid the lunch craziness!

As mentionned in the title, what a joke that this place!!
From outside, restaurant room look fancy and serious, even if it also look out of ages. So, we were expecting a kind of traditionnal restaurant. And in fact, not at all.
First dish was mussels. Mussels were lost in their shells. We were told that mussels are not in their best season... What is the interest to serve a product out of its season if it's not good for the clients?
Main dish was Agneau de Pré-Salé, very famous there. Meat was ok, but no difference with a regular sheep. French fries were industrial, and beans... omg! it came directly from the can. Horrible.
As dessert, we ordered Camembert (cheese) and its toasts. We received a ridiculous thin slice of cheese on a single and tiny toast. If we would know that, we would order something more... classical, like chocolate mousse.
About wine: red wine came directly from the fridge. "Hello, we are in France, and you keep red wine in the fridge???"
40€ per person for that was a trap, and a bad joke!
