Our trip to Mont Saint-Michel was filled with nearly every imaginable disaster that could have occurred! But, the hotel room was on the1st floor (not ground floor) & we were pleasantly surprised at the size of it and the view of the Mont. We were so pleased to be here that we immediately went out onto our terrace in the drizzling rain & started to take photos. We had a glass of wine each and a dessert because it was very very expensive. We ate breakfast (average) at the hotel since it was included in our reservation. We were able to use our computer in our room. We stayed 2 nights & appreciated the view and the roominess we had.
The Mont is a UNESCO site & as such, is another impressive feat of architecture & landscape. lf one has a problem with stairs, beware, because there are nearly 500 stairs once you get to them & a bit of a short uphill hike getting to the stairs. But, like the Eiffel Tower, trying to envision the feats that the architects and builders had to overcome while building is unimaginable in today's time. I, truly, appreciate what I have as a result.
