Visited on a Saturday night mid July. We have eaten here on several occasions, and have usually found the food and service to be good. However on this occasion, we had ordered our steak and chips (melt in the mouth if ordered med/rare), and it duly arrived. As we started eating, we could see trouble brewing. One of the waiters had got hold of a customer's face and was thumping him. I have to say that the waiter hit the customer first. The customer and his companion then engaged in a fist fight with restautant staff. I had to push my wife towards the toilets as this was taking place at virtually our table. The customers were eventually ejected from the premisis, and we settled back to our meal.
On asking our waiter what had happened, he dismissed it as 'customer was drunk'. I didn't see the customers as being drunk! We did not get an apology for the upset this had caused us, and it wasn't mentioned again. Our meal had gone cold while this was going on...
The food is good, but this episode has left a bad taste in our mouths. An apology should have been offered to us.
