“Great Little Restaurant”
Reviewed July 1, 2014

We ate her recently and were very impressed. The food was excellent, the portions good and well cooked, the staff were very friendly and the wine was reasonably priced.
All in all a very nice meal at a reasonable price-highly recommended.

“Perfect yet again”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

Three tables with French customers and 4 English so a good mix. 2 young ladies very helpful and attentive. Food as always excellent. Realised I first ate at this place (different name then) in 1984. Selected it originally because of the wonderful smell of garlic, and been back fairly regularly ever since.

“Great accident”
Reviewed June 24, 2014

We normally eat at the Poiverie opposite but it was closed, it is owned by the same man as Le Swan. Waitress has a wonderful sense of humour beautiful moules & calamari for starter steaks were a bit on the tough side but superbly cooked. The Creme brûlée was beautiful think we have changed our allegience!

“Awful food and very rude waitress! ”
Reviewed June 17, 2014 via mobile

On my last trip to Boulogne-Sur-Mer, my husband and I with a couple of friends decided to have lunch at Le Swan. We had had dinner at the restaurant a couple of years ago when we enjoyed good food, good wine and good service. However, it was a very different story on this occasion! We ordered fish as main course which was served with pepper sauce. The sauce was awful and the fish not fresh at all. The desert was very poor quality and was definitely not made by a chef. We are pretty sure it was bought elsewhere. We could hardly eat what was presented to us and my friend politely told the waitress that the fish tasted like frozen fish which has been deforested in a microwave and then steamed or slightly pan fried. The waitress did not deny it wasn't frozen and frosted fish but in a very hostile tone said that the she likes it. We all speak French so there was no issue with communication. When we asked for a bottle of water, we were shocked how dirty the bottle was! The bottom half was very greasy! We are not sure where those bottles are kept but there was thick black grease on it and even when this was pointed out the waitress did not apologise, did not replace the bottle with a clean one and didn't even bother to wipe the thick muck on it. She just gave us dagger looks! Another waitress brought the bill and told us that the chef was ill long term and it's the sous-chef who is prepare the food and he was not good! Well.. Even if that's was true or not there's no way we will return there! Only good thing was the wine.
