“Etonnant Franck”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

We have just spent seven nights at this very special B&B and believe that it is Franck who makes the place so amazing. He is the supreme host with impeccable attention to detail. Sure, the home is very pleasant, however, what makes it different to others is the effort that the hosts have put in to ensure that their guest's stay is relaxed and hassle free.
Breakfast was always an experience never to be rushed but to linger while enjoying the company of other guests. Franck demonstrated his culinary skills each morning and if you can encourage him to make pancakes, we can recommend them. Also, the variety of home made jams and breads is vast.
Depending on the level of accommodation selected, the rooms have varying degrees of comforts. We stayed in the Angel's room which was adequate for our needs. The room was cosy, shower excellent and even pressure. Toiletries supplied were good quality, drink's fridge on the landing ensured a good supply of water and juice as needed. We also used it to store the delicious French pastries purchased from several of the numerous Patisseries in the immediate area.
The home is very central and only a ten minute walk from the local train station. There is a vast array of eating places ever so close. They range from brasserie to French cuisine, Italian, Chinese and even traditional Western style meals. However, the restaurants do not open until 7PM by which time we were quite hungry so were always first there.
Overall, a most enjoyable experience in Arras.

We stayed at La Corne d'Or for three nights while visiting WW1 battlefields. This is the first time we've stayed in a B&B for a very long time. Usually we prefer to stay in large hotels where you can be totally anonymous! Franck and his beautiful house changed our minds completely. Really enjoyed the whole experience at breakfast- chatting to other guests and to Franck himself. Having a room with no locks on the door and no safe was very different for us, but we felt like we were staying with friends and didn't give it a second thought. If you're staying here, ask Franck to show you the three floors of cellars below the house - amazing! Bonne chance pour l'avenir, Franck, et merci beaucoup!.............Les Ecossais

Wonderful house- fabulous breakfasts with Franck being a very considerate and attentive host.If you are staying in Arras do not go anywhere else.We stayed in the Angel room at the front of the house - comfortable bed with interesting furniture and modern facilities en-suite. The Tourist Office in Arras is also very good and the staff there helful. A trip to the Wellington Quarry worthwhile.

We toured the WW1 battlefields staying 6 nights in Arras, the ideal base, at La Corne d'Or, the perfect place to stay. Franck is a great host; breakfasts are memorable - excellent food, good conversation & it is a lovely old building with many surprises. We had the Loft: quirky but spacious and peaceful. Location is great to walk the town; restaurants are plentiful and close by. Arras citizens are very warm and the Saturday market outstanding.

Room Tip: The Loft is great for a longer stay, there is space to spread out and it is light and airy. However...

Stayed overnight en route to Italy from UK. Parking (free 6pm-9am) was straightforward across the road.
Room was very good, as was the breakfast. Franck specially prepared a vegetarian breakfast for my wife.
Location was fine for a walk around the town centre and Franck & Isabelle helpfully recommended us places to eat.
Would definitely stay here again.

Last week, we spent four nights at this lovely Maison d'Hotes. Franck is the consummate host - really went out of his way to help us one day moving our car while we were on an all day Somme battlefield tour. Very beautiful spot, cozy and comfortable room. We stayed in the Loft which, though up a few flights of steps, was charming and perfect for us to stretch out in for a few days! Franck's breakfasts were delicious! We enjoyed our conversations with him and the other guests. It's also perfectly placed, right around the corner from the main squares and across the street from parking. Perfect in every way, a real gem!

Just exactly what you need from a French B&B. Classic style blended with comfortable, modern bathrooms and a host of facilities to make your stay worthwhile. Easy to find, with a car park opposite it really was one of the best stays of our time in France this year.

Franck is exceptionally helpful and does a fantastic breakfast, which, to my shame, I did not do justice. He will offer you a cooked breakfast and my advice is to take it as the others around me had noting but good to say about it.

Definitely stay there again.
