After going down in a glass lift you have a mixture of a guide talking, stories/information conveyed through headphones as well as projections. You also see genuine war artefacts on display as well as graffiti from WW1 and WW2. Memorial wall outside includes names of many regiments.

A good, multi-media tour. The tour-guide is supplemented by in-place videos. Put on your WWI hat and descend into the caves.

Having been previously to the museum Chemin du Dames- where there is a great deal to see that has been left behind and it is very interesting, this was a contrast. There was stunning video projections, and a sophisticated audio guide. Good explanatory movie. Excellent guide in English. pleasant helpful staff. However, they had done a really good job of making something out of nothing. Some graffiti, signs etc are still there, but other wise it is just a big cave! My husband and friends were very emotionally moved by the presentation. They thought it was excellent. I would have just rated it as very good. I like to see more stuff! The videos were shown at points around the caves leading you through the history of the battles on the area. I would say it was very sobering to stand at the bottom of staircase 16 where you knew that was one of the exit points for the soldiers. You could not help but feel taken back in time and imagine how they were exiting many to their death. Well worth the visit. It is a bit cold and damp.

Found the museum very interesting. Didn't know what to expect when my sister told me we were visiting a quarry. Not the type of quarry I am used to. It was fascinating to see where and how the soldiers survived.
