“Lest we forget”
Reviewed June 21, 2013

A Well organised "museum" of the tunnels dug during the first World War. Good audio headset as well as a knowledgeable guide. Something that should not be missed. I have visited twice and was moved each time.

“Amazing”
Reviewed June 18, 2013

Very well organised and a must for visitors to Arras. One can only wonder what so many went through, but at the same time admire what can be achieved under such terrible conditions

“really interesting with excellent tour underground”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

Headsets available in various languages, very well done tour. Very good surface throughout even for the elderly. Underground tour takes about 45mins and gives a really good feel of what it must have been like in the war

Reviewed June 2, 2013 via mobile

We were tracing the steps and visiting the grave of our great uncle. The staff here were exceptionally helpful and have us some excellent tips. The tour was excellent and very informative. Must book your trip in advance.

“Well worth an hour of your time”
Reviewed May 31, 2013

We joined the first tour at 10.30am. Make sure you book in advance as tours are limited and there is a maximum of 17 people on the tour. We called into the Carriere Wellington the afternoon before to book our places.
The exhibition is well done and you walk through a considerable length of the underground tunnels that were dug out in medieval times but extended during the war. The whole guided tour takes an hour.
It is fascinating seeing where the thousands of troops charged out from underground into the town and you gained a degree of knowledge about the position of Arras and its devastation during the Great War.
I wouldn't necessarily go out of my way to travel to Arras for the exhibit but if staying in the town or near by it is another key piece of the information about the horrors of a war that cost momentous numbers of lives for a justification I am still searching answers.
