The location of this hotel is great - dead centre Arras, a five minute's walk from the Places. It is a former monastery - very quiet when there are no parties in the restaurant (which is very good by the way). Our price for a room for one night was 120 euros, which is steep; but apparently there are special offers (which include a dinner in the restaurant) which are better.

What a great place this is, well preserved and tastefully decorated. Our bedroom was at the front of the Hotel overlooking the entrance, but we found it quiet as the Main Street is some distance away. The external shutters, operated from inside the room, keep the bright lights out. Ordering drinks at dinner time was an ordeal and the wine waiter seemed rather confused as to whether the drinks should go on the room bill or be paid for at the time of ordering. Dinner was adequate but not filling.

We stopped here for two nights on the way back to Calais from a tour around central France.

On arrival, the receptionist found an issue with our room. (We had booked for 2 adults and our 4yr old) and the hotel could only offer a double room. The receptionist immediately put this right and offered us a suite at no extra cost.

Inside the hotel is clean and relatively well cared for. Our room (118) was well appointed and spotlessly clean. It didn't have an outlook but was very quiet at night and allowed us to sleep with the windows open I disturbed.

Breakfast is a typical buffet with fruit, meats, croissant, toast etc. Bacon and scrambled egg are also on offer, although the eggs did seem to be of the 'powdered' variety.

The hotel has a bar and restaurant also, but we did not use these as they were devoid of life and character and to be honest, 3 minutes up the road were much nicer bars and eateries at half the price.

We would stay here again as it is centrally located and offers easy access to the battlefields and historic sites of the Somme.

We stayed for one night en route to Burgundy and in advance of a tour of the nearby WW1 battlefields. The hotel is well located (a 5 min walk from the central squares) with clean and reasonably well-appointed rooms and friendly service. For an extra €9 you can reserve a numbered parking space in the secure courtyard which was helpful as the car was loaded with luggage and we wanted to leave everything other than an overnight case in the car. The dining room seemed a bit soulless and we had dinner in town ... but breakfast was decent, and despite being advertised at €15 per head, was either included in our rate or we were the beneficiaries of a clerical error! All in all, a good choice.

This is an old building so is nothing like a modern chain hotel (think rambling corridors, creaking floors, sweeping staircase). The rooms are well appointed and comfortable, but without air conditioning so are not comfortable in summer. The staff are friendly and helpful. Breakfast is quite a bit more extensive than the minimalist continental affairs in some places. Location very central.

Dear Madam, dear Sir,

Thank you for having taken time to share your opinion, effectively our establishment is an old Jesuit monastery of the 17th century and is very large. I am at present in search of solution to install the air conditioning without damaging its authenticity. As you know the place, I let you imagine the scale of the file of this installation, but I am confident and hope I can present you our next installations during a next stay,

Yours faithfully,

the hotel is so central, you could walk to most of the sites in Arras. Its a charming and quiet hotel, we had a superior room, but our friends who had a standard room were equally happy.
my only gripes are that The breakfast was a bit formulaic, very bog standard and rather dull.
Also the partitions between the rooms are not well sound-proofed.

We had stayed at this hotel many years ago breaking our journey returning from the south of France. Then it was independently owned, the restaurant was a splendid vision of blue and white and the food was memorable for all the right reasons. The hotel now appears to be part of a chain. The restaurant has a dull corporate look and the food was disappointing. The waitress brought the wrong dish for one of our courses - it seemed rather below par. We had a deluxe room on the first floor. It was ok. The building was originally a Jesuit Monastery and is very attractive with a central courtyard. The location is central but quite a challenge to find through the one way system. The receptionist was sweet and welcoming and told us about the firework display planned for later that night to celebrate Bastille day. We walked out after dinner joining a throng of people to see it. I have to confess that it was not half as impressive as the display we had seen the night before in the tiny town of Ornans.
