Hotel Mercure Arras Centre Gare
Ranked #1 of 14 Hotels in Arras

Stayed here for one night after watching the final of the tour de france in Paris. You can access the hotel from the underground car park opposite the train station. The hotel is a 3 minute walk from the train station where the TGV will get you to Paris in 50 mins.

The hotel is modern and clean. Reception staff are friendly. We paid £60 for a twin room with breakfast. The room has a double and a single bed, so would be good as a family room. I asked and was told that kids would stay free.

The room was clean and comfortable with free wifi (rare in France). The only English TV channel is the news. The only bad point as the shower. The tap is a bit misleading, it indicates a right turn for cold, when this in fact gives you hot water. I got a bit scolded!

Had a good sleep and an excellent buffet breakfast. Only an hour from the euro tunnel, so a great place to visit the war sights, a great base to get to Paris for a day trip, or nice to visit the Xmas market, or the Arras music festival. It is a short walk into town.

To sum up, a great bargain hotel.

Occasionally the Mercure hotel brand surprises. Mostly their properties are OK but often a little tired, but usually well located and offering good value.

Our stay in Arras was very pleasant. A large room, a comfortable bed, a good bathroom (although a larger shower screen would save the bathroom floor getting completely wet) and a sensible breakfast, topped off by very helpful and friendly service from the front desk. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Grand Square/Cathedral, but near the SNCF station and a surprising number of local restaurants. Being near Belgium, the food is good.

Free, good quality Wifi

A very acceptable hotel located near the station and a short walk from the town centre. It is easy to find by car from the main through routes to Paris/Calais/Lille and well placed for a number of areas of historical military significance. All areas of the hotel were modern and very smart, the rooms a good size-just ideal for an overnight stop over. It has off road underground parking. It has a restaurant of its own but there are a number of bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk around the station area. No need to go to the town centre to eat.

The hotel is a short walk from the train station, there is a car rental agency adjacent and good underground parking at 9 euros a day. The location and easy access to exits from town make this hotel a good place to stay when visiting the Somme or battlefield sites and memorials such as Vimy, Thiepval or Beaumont Hamel.

The breakfast is well worth the price and the variety of cereals, breads/croissants, meats & chesses, and hot dishes is sufficient to satisfy most people and give a good launch to your day. The rooms are quiet, clean and comfortable. The cleaning staff is quick and efficient. The reception staff is friendly and helpful and can provide advice on travel directions, local attractions and where to find good pizza (avoid the Dominos chain).

It is a short walk to the picturesque Place des Heroes and Grand Place. There are a variety of restaurant options from small cafes to elegant restaurants. There are plenty of places to pick up sandwiches or salads to go and there is also a selection of good chocolate shops and pastry shops where the prices of macarons are very competitive and considerably less expensive than in Paris or at the airports. It is a good option to attend the weekly markets in Arras where there is a variety of local fruit and vegetable specialties (get some fraise de bois when in season), cured meats, local honey, and clothing -- including quite a few shoe stalls with good discount prices.

I would recommend the Mercure Atria Arras as a great place to stay.

This hotel is very easy to find as the road is a continuation of the motorway into Arras. Our room was modern, quiet and comfortable, with a very good shower and toiletries. There is convenient parking under the hotel. We were there for one night only but because of the central location we managed to do quite a bit of sightseeing in the city. Unfortunately all the shops were closed because we were there on a Sunday but the hotel is just across the road from the pedestrianised shopping streets. We decided to have breakfast in the hotel (although it was not included in our very reasonable room rate) and were so glad we did as it was exceptionally good. Check in, and out was very fast and efficient and we would definitely choose this hotel again when travelling in France.
