“Great location for exploring Arras”
Reviewed August 15, 2013

I usually avoid hotels near train stations but this location is great as the station square is very nice with a few bars and cafes. We stayed on a Sunday night on the night of the MainSquare Festival in Arras and it wasnt noisy at all but cant guarantee its the same on a Saturday. The town centre or Arras is a 10 minute walk away and theres loads of parking just round the corner which was free on Sundays and only a few euros for a weekday. The hotel itself isnt anything to write home about but we had no complaints and the room we had was huge.

This hotel was lovely, the bedrooms were massive as was the bed (almost a hike to reach the other side!!). The staff were very friendly and helpful managing to let us have our room earlier than the agreed time. The only downside to this was there was no tea or coffee making facilities in the room which I would have thought would have been a must for a 4* hotel.

We stayed here for one night when in Arras for the music festival. It wasn't to my taste really. Although the rooms were huge they were very old fashioned and I didn't like the decor. We had a family room and a superior double which also had a single bed in it. The curtains were like made of plastic. It was very hot downstairs although the aircon in our room worked well we needed it on full. I thought it was much noisier than the Holiday Inn which we also stayed in, and not such good value. But it was ok and clean and the lady on reception was very pleasant. Its a very French hotel.

Tou cannot beat the location as it is directly across from the train station. But this once elegant hotel has seen better days. The common areas could use a refit. The rooms, however, still have elegnce to them and all signa of their former glory is still present. A little pricey, but I suppose tou pay for the location.

We stayed here for three nights and found it to be adequate for our needs. The room was clean and spacious and the large bed was very comfortable. The buffet breakfast was fine, although there wasn't a huge choice, and the staff were very helpful. There is not a car park attached to the hotel so you have to park your car in a nearby underground car park at a reduced rate of 8 Euros per day. The hotel had a nice French feel to it and we would not hesitate to stay here again.

We thought this was a very French hotel and much more interesting than one in an international chain. We upgraded from the standard room and our room was large with an enormous bed. One odd feature was the bathroom. The bathroom itself was lovely and big with an excellent shower and bath. The loo was separate and the toilet was up a flight of 7 stairs (in the "loo room" itself)! It was so quirky we took a photo. Everything seemed very clean. The breakfast was French: hams, cheeses, yogurts, fruit, pastries etc which we found very good. It did not matter that it was not "full English" style - this was France. The staff were lovely and friendly. Although it was in the centre of town near the railway station it was not noisy. It was very convenient for the excellent restaurants in the town. The hotel provides a card for parking in an underground carpark nearby, with a cost per day.

Room Tip: Don't have room 19 if you don't want stairs to the loo

We had booked this hotel then my wife saw some poor ratings which put us off. As it had been recommended by friends we chose to ignore them and we were right to. Great central location, no noise despite being close to station, comfortable and very friendly staff.

Room Tip: We had a family room on the fourth floor facing the square and it was great
