“Hotel is in Town centre”
Reviewed July 10, 2011

This hotel is very central and about 100 metres from the train station. It is surrounded by restaurants so the choice is plentiful. The hotel is not one of your modern plastic types but more of a bygone age without being dowdy or depressing. The rooms were large and had all the usual facilities of tea /coffee making facilities, hairdryer, flat TV screen etc. Bed was comfortable and quite large, a sort of kingsize-kingsize. If you are a light sleeper then beware as the noise of the early morning trains as they may well disturb you. I personally never heard them but our friends did hear them. The staff were very friendly and helpful and where their english is not great, it didn't exactly cause any problems. The hotel food and service was very good but breakfast was the usual continental type and for €9 wasn't very good value although adequate. Hotel room rate was a bit pricey but this has to be expected when any hotel is located in the town centre. Car parking wasn't a problem as the hotel has a deal with an underground car park franchise which is situated approx 100 metres from the hotel. This will cost you €25 a week. I would stay there again but would try and negotiate the price down a wee bit.

A slightly dated interior but comfortable enough with excellent service from the proprietors and staff. Our room was big enough but somewhat cluttered with furniture. The separate toilet was unusual given the bidet was in the smallish bathroom. We were there during a particularly warm Easter weekend and the air conditioning was incapable of cooling the room properly. Thus we had to open the windows which gave us acccess to the sounds of the conveniently positioned train station and the large fountain literally across the road. Parking was located in metered areas between the hotel and station and could be hard to find at busy times. Five minutes walk to the centre of town but numerous eaterys and bars closer than that. The hotel itself has a good restaurant and bar.

I stayed here because the Holiday Inn was fully booked. It boasts 4 stars and had good reviews. It is completely beyond me how either accolade was achieved.

A very dated, dark and depressing 1970's deorated dump is how I would best describe this place. And they charge more than the modern hotels next door!.Couple that with badly sound proofed windows when the TGV line is across the road and you have the makings of pretty much the worst hotel experience I have had for some time.

I have no idea why anyone would wish to stay here unless, like me, they were mislead by the sadly now tto common duff reviews on this site.

Room Tip: Make sure its in the Mercure or Holiday Inn

This hotel was an outstanding place to stay for us as a mature couple, close to rail to Paris and restaurants at reasonable cost. The staff were excellent and the rooms were clean and very comfortable - used this hotel as a base for trips to the WW1 battlefields and Arras attractions

Stayed for a night in Arras while visiting Vimy. Staff was very helpful and genuinely nice. Rooms are very big. Be warned that the toilet isn't in the same room as the shower/sink/bidet! Free wireless internet was nice and fast.

Stayed in many hotels in Arras & this is the best one (location, quality, rooms, value).
Only downside - no kettle in the room !

just so comfortable. Big room and separated bath and toilet, more facilities to make you relax. Very clean, which is very important too. Haven't tried Restaurant, but it's France, I guess it's expectable. Employee was so nice too, I liked and enjoyed a lot.
