We decided to travel out of our way to see this bridge, based on the great reports we had read. I am so glad we did. We crossed this bridge on the same day that we visited the Pont du Gard. It was our "Salute to the Great Bridges of France Day". We were advised by a young man at a service centre to take an exit and view it from the bottom before crossing it. It was excellent advice. The view from below really provided a total view of the structure while the views crossing it were interesting but limited due to speed and perspective. I am sorry that we didn't have time to visit the information centre to learn more about it but at the same time, I am glad that we did not leave France without seeing it. Just beautiful!

If you are travelling the A75-A71 (Paris to Montpelier) you cannot miss this engineering masterpiece, but don't just drive accross it, take the exit off the highway and stop at the visitor centre, you will not be disappointed. In particular, take a few minutes to view the short film which shows the making of the bridge. If you are feeling energetic would also recommend a walk up to the lookout at the bridge level as the views of the Tarn River valley and surrounding countryside are spectacular. This a truly amazing structure and well worth a visit.

We came to this area from Saint George so we went under the viaduc direction to Millau. In the city we turned to the right to a Route Brunas. This narrow road bring you to a view point over the all valley with a viaduc. It is very nice view and a viaduc from this point is monumental. There are also some informative tables about viaduc.

The first time you see the viaduct it takes your breath away, and continues to do so wherever it pops into view in the surrounding area. Superb views from surrounding hills and the visitor centre and Aire at the North side are good to visit. Looking up from the valley below gives you a real sense of the height of the pillars
