“Outstanding B&B and fabulous hosts”
Reviewed August 28, 2013

We only stayed here two nights and would've stayed more if we could; the property is a 1930s period art nouveau villa that is gorgeously furnished throughout and with many of the original features. We were welcomed by Mark and Peter and their attentiveness was constant yet unobtrusive throughout. The villa is the cleanest building I have ever been in; every surface, every item was gleaming and spotless. We had a fabulous 3-course dinner on our last night, prepared by Peter and it was perfection. We will be going back next year and have recommended to all our friends. A terrific experience that should not be missed!

We recently spent a wonderful week at La Villa de Mazamet. La Villa is an elegant property made special by hosts Peter and Mark. Nothing is too much trouble, from recommending and booking restaurants to providing detailed information on local places of interest in the area. Everything has been carefully thought through. We enjoyed dinners cooked by Peter using local, in season ingredients and complimented by the excellent wines suggested by Mark. This was one of our most memorable holidays, relaxing and interesting with friendly and welcoming hosts. La Villa de Mazamet is more than a five star experience. We will definitely be returning.

Room Tip: all rooms are tastefully furnished with linen sheets, fluffy towels and high quality toiletries. Si...

Well now this is difficult.
What can I say that hasn’t been said? This was our third visit to Villa de Mazamet, and part of yet another carefully planned cycle tour in the Languedoc. When I say ‘carefully’, what I really mean is that the tour MUST now include two days at La Villa. We found ourselves with an 80k crossover day to get to Mazamet, but on arrival, two hot and oily cycle tourists were greeted like old friends by Mark, and the pampering started immediately with two large glasses of ice cold Perrier by the pool. Then a swim, dressing for dinner, pre dinner drinks, a wonderful dinner by the pool..gush, gush..ah!
I could go on, but I would only be repeating what others have said. Sufficient to say, this place, and these hosts are the very best. We had a delicious time, and will be back again, and again, and again...
Many thanks, Mark and Peter, for looking after us so well.

You would be mad not to want to visit this place. Not only is it exceptionally beautiful with first class service, but it is situated in a stunning region with so much to see and do. We spent a week there of relaxation, sunshine, adventure, inspiration and fun. The food is delightful. Mark and Peter are amazing hosts and so professional - but unlike so many other places they haven't become boring. Far from it! They are charming, charismatic and yet understated, filling La Villa de Mazamet with personality and character. We loved it so much we are sure to visit again and would wish to unreservedly recommend it to others. We wouldn't usually write on review websites, but it was so great, on this occasion we just felt compelled to support it. Thank you so much for a wonderful holiday.

tripadvisor needs to review their rating system. Five "stars" is simply not enough to describe La Villa. How we wish we could package up Mark and Peter, and open a chain of La Villas - we would be worth a fortune! But that's the point. No-one can, because these guys are unique. Everything that is said about La Villa is true - and more. So don't even bother to look elsewhere. Just book, and relax, in the absolute certainty that everything will be perfect.

What else can be said after all those top notch reviews (all very true!)? :-)

We LOVED
* the house itself with cosy corners to sit or read, very elegant dining/breakfast room, the DVD lounge,...
* our Deluxe Suite with the marvellous boxspring beds, beautiful sheets, fantastic bathroom (never used a bigger bath) with nice L'Occitane toiletries, Nespresso, nice view on the Montagne Noire,...
* the pool/garden to read, take a nap, just relax, have a drink : always so quiet and peaceful
* the food : fresh and lovely breakfast (great bread, homemade cookies/cakes/muffins, lots of tasteful fruits, good coffee/tea/juice,...), superb dinners (best risotto I ever had), very nice wine choice
* the area : lots to see and to do : Albi, Carcassonne, Minerve, Le lac des Montagnes, Castres,... Great sunflower fields!
* The La Villa Daytours : great maps/routes to explore the area
* Mazamet itself : nice little town to take a walk, friendly people, great lunch at "Le Salon de Thé Les saveurs d'autan", nice "Marché des Producteurs" on Monday
* the other guests from all around the world

But most of all :
Mark & Peter! It's amazing how these guys run this B&B : they found a great balance between hospitality, helpfulness and giving their guests the privacy they might need. It was our first B&B experience and we didn't know exactly what to expect, but it was a 200% positive experience!!
We loved Peter's cooking skills, Mark's great wine advice and service during meals, the movie advice ;-), the chats we had, the time they always made when we were getting back after a trip, the way they made us feel pampered,... We've been to several 5* hotels before, but they can never give you the personal attention/service you get at La Villa de Mazamet.

So : we just HAVE to go back, you won't find a better place to stay, I'm sure!! Don't know if we'll can wait till next Summer ;-)
