“Best seafood buffet!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 28, 2013

Wonderful selection of fresh fish and salads. There were many varieties of fish cooked all different ways: smoked, battered, and baked. I really enjoyed the mussel soup and the salads. The price was not bad for everything that was included in buffet, I'm pretty sure around 17 euro per person. This is not a typical buffet so keep that n mind. This is fresh, local, and delicious. The atmosphere was nothing fancy just a big open room with lots of tables. The service was basic and nothing more which was fine because its a buffet so you do your own thing. Great location right on the water. Overall we had a very pleasurable dining experience. If you like seafood, this is seafood at its best!

“Excellent value fish buffet”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 3, 2012

We had a day out in Mons and found this restaurant by chance. What a pleasant surprise. An "eat as much as you like" fish buffet, with tables outside on a raised platform overlooking the marina.
Nice walks around the marina also.

“Great smoked fish buffet at a reasonable price”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 4, 2011

After an excursion to Møns Klint we ended up in Klintholm around dinner time. The local smoking house has a restaurant offering buffet (lunch and dinner) as the only option. A first inspection of the buffet, around the time it opened, wasn't too convincing with a somewhat limited choice. However, after a walk around the marina we'd decided that at the price it was an OK option. We were informed that it would be a ten minute wait for a table, and as soon as one became vacant it was efficiently cleared, we were seated, drink orders taken, and we were given the go-ahead for the buffet.
Since the initial inspection, a few more fish dishes had appeared on the buffet, so it by now was quite extensive with four `adult' types of fish (cod with a nicely balanced mustard sauce, butterfish, salmon, and smoked mackerel), roast beef (moist and tender), two `kiddy' fish dishes (some really good fish balls - think a crossover between meat balls and fish cakes - and some rather bland battered fillets of plaice or similar type of fish), plenty of salad options, and three different types of potatoes (roasted, creamed, and chips). Add to that some excellent bread and a tasty mussel soup, and some good Czech beer on tap (as well as a Danish one, should you decide to go local). In summary, apart from the battered plaice - which is probably mainly aimed at kids who prefer it to be a bit dry and nondescript - everything was fresh and well prepared.
Atmosphere of the place is OK: the room is open plan, almost cafeteria like, but with nice views of the harbour from all tables - more efficient and Scandinavian minimalism than romantic or intimate. Service was efficient and precise, but I've been living abroad so long that it also came across as a bit abrupt - staff limited conversation to the absolute necessary, though without being curt. Price was a very reasonable DKK 148,- for the buffet (about £18,-).
