A very comfortable hotel ,family owned and run and which places the emphasis on the personal touch. The restaurant provides traditional French cuisine at a reasonable price and the wine list is extensive ,catering for every palette and every pocket..All sectors of customer are welcomed with the same attentive approach whether it be the intimate couple or the extended family party. Highly recommended to all.

I have to say that our group of 3 couples had the best visit possible bike riding in this southern area due to the absolutely wonderful hotel we stayed at. The owner of the Bouriane took suh good care of us and went out of his way to make sure our biking trip was fantastic. Our room was charming and very updated. We had a great area to assemble our bikes and keep everything safe. The area was just beautiful and very clean and no crime. We ate at the restaurant every night because the food was incredible and we figured out quickly that it was the best around. The chef is amazing. I can not say enough. The service was impeccable too. Each night after our ride we sat out on the front porch area to have an drink and appetizer before our dinner. It was very relaxing and one of the best trips our riding group has had the opportunity to visit. The roads we biked were great and always something to see around each bend. We planned our rides each day on our own and found our way with no problems. Luckily there was little traffic and the roads were in great shape. It is without doubt you will not be disappointed with your stay here as it was the best!!

In searching for other places to bicycle around Europe a good friend came up with the idea of Gourdon for its beautiful scenery, historic castles and numerous caves. We selected the Hostellerie de la Bouriane as our base for a week of tandem riding and planned our many rides around the region. Every day we were greeted in the morning by the hotel's owner and his friendly staff before venturing out for our daily ride. After a long day in the saddle it was good to know that coming back every night we would we welcomed by friendly faces and have another excellent meal. It was always good to come back to a place with great food, friendly people and a very comfortable/relaxing setting. In fact, the food was so good we never took a chance at dining out elsewhere.

If you are considering a cycling excursion, or just a vacation, in the French countryside I would highly recommend the Hostellerie de la Bouriane for your stay. You will not be disappointed with the accommodations, location, staff or fine cuisine!!

Room Tip: Our room was on the second floor and it was quiet as it looked out over the entrance to the hotel.

We travel extensively on self supported bicycle tours. We decided to base for one week in Gourdon and having done our research into fine riding, fine dining and fine wines, chose the hostellerie de la Bouriane. The location is perfect for sight seeing in the region. We rode every day using Gourdon as our base. The hotel was clean, not too fancy, less expensive than staying on for example, Sarlat. The bed was firm and the service first rate.

It is the quality of the food and the unparalleled selection of fabulous wines at really unbelievable prices that made the stay exceptional. M. Lacam really knows the regional wines- Cahors, bergeracs, Bordeaux and has great finds in the 20-50 euro range. In the states we'd pay 2-3 times that at least if we could even find the bottles! We had 1995 bordeaux , delicious, for around 30 euro! They went out of our way to offer meals not on the menu since we were staying the week.

The staff is attentive to all of your needs. They helped us with a car reservation, sight seeing details, and readily available to all the clients of the hotel, that was clear.

This is a great place for lovers of great food and great wine. We ate all of our meals at the hotel. Riding all the Miles we did made it possible to eat all of the food presented to us. Te meal we had in Toulouse prior or flying home was disappointing by comarisonand their Cahors wine-at 34 euro- was weak and could not old up to any of the wines we tested at the hostellerie de la Bouriane.

We would come back in a minute.

The owner of a nearby B&B directed us to la Bouriane telling us that it may be the best traditional French restaurant in France. I can say that not only was the food superb but the experience of eating there was simply joyful. The owner and staff create an atmosphere of perfection. They are impressive and welcoming. The wine list is extensive. I am a wine novice. The owner himself came to our table to discuss selections and directed us to a mid-priced local wine (we requested local) that was very good. The food was fresh and quickly brought to the table. If you eat here you are treating yourself to a fine experience.

Room Tip: As stated in the title, we only ate in the restaurant. It, alone, was worth going to France. :-)

We stayed here for six nights to explore the Dordogne and the Lot, after the great reviews here. We were not disappointed. We had one of the cheap rooms, nothing fancy, but clean and practical, and certainly very good value for money. The best feature of this place is the restaurant; excellent food, a great wine list, and also excellent advice on choosing your wine. The owner really is an oenophile and gave us great advice on visiting some vintners where we bought some more bottles. Generally, once you get him talking he won't stop! Breakfast is not that cheap, but very good, especially by French standards, internet is free. Gourdon is a nice but quiet place, not far from Sarlat and also not far from places like Rocamadour, a great location to use as a basis.

Gourdon can be a busy little town, with difficult parking.
However the Bourianne is just off the centre, with loads of parking and a lovely aspect to the South.
We had a very warm welcome from attentive and professional staff. the maitre 'd ( owner? ) was especially impressive.
after a long day cycling it was especially nice to have a cool beer ( from a local artisinale brewer) in a handsome lounge full of large comfortable leather armchairs.

our room was comfortable and well equipped.

dinner in the restaurent was a very pleasant experience and the maitre 'd charmingly helped us make a choice from their very extensive wine list.

would definately go back to this hotel, and use it as a base for exploring the area.
