Very friendly welcome throughout our stay here. The hotel is located right in centre of Cauterets with many bars and restaurants within a few minutes walk. The best meal we had however was within their own dining room, a four course meal of good home cooked food with local specialities for 21 euros, Rooms small but very clean and comfortable with free wi fi throughout. Trip to Lac de Gaube is highly recommended and the telecabin and chair lift meant it was accessible trip even for those with creaky knees who don't do steep hills ! Only small blip was the poor breakfast not worth the money and you would be much better walking around corner to a local bar,

Room Tip: Ask for room overlooking main street

If you stay here, and we hope you will, book the demi-pension. The dinners are very good. We used the hotel for a week as a base to explore the Pyrenees. Superb walking from the Port Espagnol up to Lac Gaube + Gavarnie +Pic du Midi. The food was different each evening, four courses, set menu, though when I had eaten enough meat the excellent trout was brought back. Yes the wooden floors can be noisy but this is a minor inconvenience when the welcome given by Thomas, his mother and aunt are so warm. Parking was a bit hit and miss, though never had to walk more than 2-3 minutes. Lots of character and well worth a try.

We stayed here for 3 nights and loved the ambiance and character of this hotel. Our bedroom was number 2 and was so pretty that I had to take a photo of it. It had large shuttered balcony windows over the street. The hotel has many antiques and curios at every turn and a characterful bar and patio area. There are wooden floors throughout and this is part of the character of the place - the odd creak here and there! Plenty of storage and although the bathroom was small it had everything you could wish. Cauterets is quiet in June as it is just opening up after the post ski break. It was a great place to stay for it's character and we were out every day to see the wonderful Pyrenees National Park and Lourdes is not too far away either (well worth a trip). The hotel is a gem. I would recommend staying there if in the area. Car parking was in the street at the back and free and we had no problem getting a space every day.

Room Tip: No 2 was very pretty

We arrived two days early due to unforeseen travel changes, and were warmly welcomed and given our choice of room to stay in. Rose Marie, Bernadette and Thomas were all so nice to us, and the food was superb. In the week we stayed in Cauterets we had virtually all our meals at the hotel. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet. The center of the village is just up the street, and Cauterets makes a great base for exploring the Pyrenees. We had some amazing hikes, and considering we live in Lake Louise that is saying something.
