“Quite dreadful.”
Reviewed July 16, 2012

Hard to believe we went to the same place as all the good reviews. We chose to eat inside which was somewhat drab and without any ambience. The room was dominated by a huge TV, but at least the sound was turned down. Not a good start when we were told they had didn't have the wine we had chosen from a very limited list indeed, and were recommended a much more expensive bottle that on ordering proved to have no particular merit above average plonk. The real downer was the food. We chose trout which had been out of the water some long time and presumably frozen, and it was then overcooked! The chips were of the appearance and consistency of overcooked pasta and completely sodden in cooking oil. We both left all our chips and when the plates were collected there was no comment from the waiter!

“Very good”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

Good food; friendly staff; attractive place. Close to order the beef for 2 people and took what we couldn't finish off home and ate it up one of the beautiful mountain views the next day.

“Excellent local cuisine”
Reviewed May 9, 2012

Likes - really excellent dinner based on local ingredients (trout, local ham), a lot of thought had gone into the menu and it very tasty, very friendly service although the setting was a little bit basic. We visited after a day of walking in the mountains - hearty fare which was much appreciated. I would recommend it.

Dislikes - it was relatively expensive, it was worth it though
