“Another wonderful evening at The Fountsin”
Reviewed February 10, 2013

Having enjoyed yet another fantastic evening in the company of wonderful hosts Jacque and Richard it struck us that we had never wrote a review, which is very remiss of us.

This place never dissapoints, always offering a great and varied menu complmented by fabulous champagne and wines.

From the moment you enter you are warmly greeted like old friends and the ambience of the place is always spot on.

Thank you both and we will be bcak very soon.

“Lovely little place”
Reviewed January 30, 2013 via mobile

It's been a while since we've been so this review is late!

Have eaten at The Fountain many times and it never fails to disappoint. The food is reasonably priced and is just delicious. Service is quick and friendly.

You need to book quite a way ahead as it's very popular.

“Great birthday lunch”
Reviewed January 30, 2013

We took our friend out for a birthday lunch. He's a keen walker so we went for a stroll over the Clent Hills and worked up an appetite. We had the dog with us and were impressed immediately by the bowl of water outside for visiting pooches! There was plenty of parking too - one car park in front and one at the back so we could leave the dog close enough to keep an eye on him. We had booked, which was a good job, as the place was packed! Most diners were a lot smarter than us in our walking boots but it didn't matter as the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We opted for the two course prix fixe at £13.95 and that was plenty (I even saved a little bit of lamb to take out to the dog). Two of us had the lamb - it came with potato, chips and loads of steamed veg - and one had the fish and chips. All were very tasty. Desserts came as assiettes so you chose two. The nice thing about that was that you got to pick two from the list of lovely puddings but the downside was that they were small. We would definitely go back. The Fountain has been beautifully and tastefully furnished and has lost none of the charm of the original old inn.

“Not impressed.”
Reviewed January 26, 2013 via mobile

Our food was served in deep sided bowls, which made it very difficult to eat. The food quickly became a mess as all the ingredients became like a soup. It looked a mess. And tasted like mess. If it had been something like risotto, then it would have been ok, but it wasn't! Why oh why did the chef decide to serve it this way? And when we complained, we where not taken seriously. We where made to feel as though we where being finnicky. The food itself wasn't up to much either. A chicken breast, stuffed with goats cheese: nice succulent moist chicken - no, dry and like leather; molten tasty goats cheese - no, a tasteless "nothing" with a texture that was nothing like cheese. I am sure the food was just reheated, and not freshly prepared. Overall, a big disappointment.
