The buildings and rooms at ClubMed Vittel are amazing, very grand and spacious. We had a garden view room in the Grand Hotel that was exceptional. The G.O. team under Vincenzo work very hard to make your stay enjoyable and there are plenty of sports/activities to get involved with, all included in the price of your stay. The evening shows in the theatre this year are AMAZING (well done Leigh) and set in one of the most beautiful theatres you will see.

We are back from one lovely week spent in Club Med Vittel. It was our first time in this club. here is our experience.
Warm, personalized welcome and depart by Fatima and Krishna, the last is in charge with vip and gold members. Thank you guys for making things easier for us! The buildings' architecture, the facilities, the parc and gardens, the diversity of sports and activities charmed us immediately. We had a spacious room with park view in the Grand Hotel. Two large windows (had a room on the corner of the hotel) make the room very light and cosy. King size bed very comfortable. Nevertheless, the rooms need to be refurbished and renovated. The bathroom is newly renovated in Belle Epoque' s style, so no complains about that. Common areas, terraces, restaurant rooms are all spacious, unique.. On the other side, the food was somehow disappointing in terms of diversity and quality. Especially the breakfast, we found it poor for a club med's standards. You can tell the difference compared to 4 tridents clubs. The lunch and dining area outside are lovely and well organized. We never had difficulties in finding a nice table on the lawn. But overall, what made our stay great were the people. We liked how the Mini Club is organized and their flexibility about the check-in/check-out timing. Thank you the Azon team! Vincenzo, the village's chef is all over the place, welcoming and talking to people. The GO's we crossed were all helpful and friendly. Definitely, the evening shows were a big plus. Congratulations to the very talented British choreographer (I don't remember her name)! Best shows ever in a Club Med!

tips: take a big room with park view, don't hesitate to take the free shuttle to visit the grounds (big domain), eat outside if the weather allows you to, book a dinner or lunch to the neighbor village Ermitage for 15 euro extra/person. it's definitely worth it. watch the horse/pony show they have once a week

Room Tip: park view grand hotel

We had a great time at vittel. Just a nice location for northerners in Europe. Convenient, good facilities and completely oriented towards healthy living and sports. Just what we needed.
Yannis Laurie at the minclub were naturally attentive for our children. We very much appreciated their natural and personal approach. The aqua gym class with Mathilde was probably the best I've ever had...Jeremy was also tops. ...never mentioned are the support staff. Special appreciation for Afef and Mathilde. Thanks to clemence for the determined approach for the swimming classes!

We are just back from a super disappointing trip to Club Med Vittel (Aug 2017). This was our third summer in a row and for the previous two years we were so happy!! This year, however, something was missing....it seemed extremely understaffed and all the employees appeared exhausted. There weren't too many smiles and bonjours were often lacking. Just a downer vibe all together unfortunately. On a positive note, the food was still really good though!!

We visited in July, had overall a very good time and would recommend the experience.

That said, while it's obviously a very expensive type of holiday, I am not convinced it's good value for money. It really did not feel that different from any large hotel with great facilities and a kids club, but at a higher price tag.

Let me add some more color:

The pros:

- evening shows (esp. the 5 Elements) was just stunning, West-End quality. Not sure why they start so late in the evening though (esp. for those with young children).

- tennis was great with a very large number of courts (mostly clay) and great availability.

- meals in the hotel garden environment are lovely

- loved the Belle Epoque architecture, you can feel the glamour of the glorious old days of this spa town. It makes it quite an appealing and unusual setting for that type of vacation (vs. beach-side resorts etc.)

- Children are taken care of, so that parents can enjoy doing adult activities (golf etc.). Childcare seemed ok (petit club), but it's probably becoming really great for kids from age 4 in the kids club.

- the people, at least many will argue that you meet only a specific type of crowd here.

The cons:

- our room in the Grand Hotel was barely worth a 2* hotel: bathroom very old fashioned, furniture paint worn out, no balcony, windows that don't tilt (on hot summer nights that is a real issue with young children)

- quality of food was in my mind just ok, certainly not gastronomic and below my expectations. Drinks were surprisingly low-end, e.g. nectar juice instead of 100% fruit juice (seriously???), coffee quality very disappointing (no proper espresso, just your average Nescafe machine). It really does not fit the high-end positioning of the Club Med brand.

- no proper welcome/help to get from the car park to the hotel (which is still quite a uphill walk + stairs).

- the free Club Med lessons (golf, tennis) felt overcrowded and limited to 1h/day, so you don't get much value from these and need to opt for private lessons.

- GOs are friendly, but some barely speak English, which in 2017 in the hospitality sector is not really acceptable.

- the swimming pool is very large but really old school, not really suitable for young kids or for water play in general

So, overall a good time, but it's perfectible and value for money is questionable.

I booked this holiday with the idea to have a relaxing holiday for myself and a fun holiday for my daughter of 3. I found it in this hotel! I had myself spoiled in the Spa. Ask for Johan, he is also specialized in shiatsu and foot reflexology, which allowed me to really recover from a stressful period.
