We stayed here for one night last summer on a touring holiday in France. This is a lovely quiet place, situated above the town of Brive, where we were welcomed by the charming owner, wreathed in smiles despite the pouring rain. We were shown to a little house up steps , where we had use of two bedrooms, shower room and living area all decorated in vintage French style with wrought iron furninture and lovely old photos everywhere. There were fresh apricots and milk (and smarties) in the little fridge behind louvre doors, and tea and cofffee to use. Madame gave us tips on where to eat and to visit in the interesting town (which is just a short wak down the hill)beaming all the time. There were also loads of guide books and leaflets in various languages in the house. We knew from the guest book that breakfast the next morning would be something special. In we went to a table set with beautiful linen with handmade felt napkin rings. Freshly boiled eggs arrived, accompanied by baskets of croissants and bread and home made preserves. The kiwi and orange was amazing !A board with cheese and meats was presented, and as much coffee or tea as we wished. We were the only guests at the time, but Madame could not have made us feel more welcome or gone to more trouble for us. In better weather, breakfast is usually served by the swimming pool!
i cannot recommend Domaine de Breuil highly enough - our only regret was that we were just there for one night en route elsewhere. Go !
