We had a very pleasant 3-course set menu for 23 euros which was just 4 euros more than the 2-course option. There were no alternatives but we were happy with the choices. The restaurant, though tucked away, is near the church of St Martin, and easy to find. Parking could be a problem. I deposited the family at the church and parked near the Place de la République: 8-10-minutes' walk. The restaurant is small but impeccably clean, nicely presented and the service was efficient and friendly. Our dog was kindly treated. There was a tasty little mise en bouche before the first course. The airport is a 20-25 minute drive. We would recommend this restaurant, and would be happy to eat there again.

This restaurant was recommended by the B&B owner and it was exceptional. Imaginative, very approachable food and fantastic flavors. We enjoyed every dish and give this restaurant a very good recommendation.

We had a fantastic meal there, top ingredients combined with a creative cuisine.
Red tuna with a wasabi sorbet, veal with truffel sauce, really excellent.
The sevice was also very friendly. A couple operates the restaurant and seating is limited so it is better to book.
They also had an excellent kids 3course menu for only 11euros.

The only issue is that I got asthma because of some spray they used in the restaurant, but they have opened the door and it got better.

This restaurant, open a couple of years is owned by a young couple, Pierre & Fany Neveu. We dropped in for lunch after a meeting in town as we'd heard good things about the place. We received a charmingly friendly welcome from Fany who looks after the 8 tables, seating 26 people. The reataurant is in a very small street (no parking) just inside the inner ring road, and makes very good use of the attractive stonework of the building.

During the week, they propose a reasonably priced daily menu, costing €23 for 3 courses, though one can choose either entree and main, or main and dessert at slightly reduced prices. One can also choose à la Carte. I chose the three course menu and my wife chose the main course and dessert, but was allowed, very kindly, by Pierre to substitute cheese for the dessert.

I won't bore you with a blow by blow account of the dishes. Suffice it to say that each course was delicious with some innovative touches. This isn't stodgy food, but light modern cooking. What a joy to be served freshly cooked green asparagus spears. The breadt of duckling was beautifully cooked exactly to the degree we asked for and was a succulent and juicy as one could ask for,

The wine list is imaginative and quite extensive. We chose a glass each of house red, and were offered the choice of two bottles, choosing one from Faugères, which was delicious, far better than many I've been offered.

All in all, this is a very good restaurant indeed. I run a B&B and will certainly be recommending it to my clients if they want to eat in Brive and we shall be returning when we can. The overall cost for the two of us, was 54 €. Fany was delightful, full of giggles and fun. In view of the small capacity,I strongly recommend booking, especially ifor dinner. One thing worth noting. This isn't a fast food joint, open all hours. They only accept people arriving during normal meal times, and these times are displayed outside the restaurant. With just the two of them running the place, it's entirely reasonable, but might surprise someone hoping to eat at any time.

We have been living in Brive since March, having visited 3 times before. In that time we have been to a number of restaurants in the town. On the whole, the standard is high; only one has disappointed. But we had heard from several people that La Table d'Olivier was the best. And they are right.

It's not a big restaurant; so you need to reserve, especially if you are going on a Saturday evening, as we did. It's also hard to find if you don't know Brive well - on the west side of the central area (centre historique), off rue Carnot. Although the main room is small, the tables are carefully arranged so that you are not bothered by your fellow diners. The décor is unobtrusive and the tinkling water feature calming. We were made to feel at home by our waitress, the chef's wife.

The menu was blessedly short but with enough variety and interest to make deciding on what to have quite hard. That is as it should be. And when our food arrived, each dish was beautifully presented and delicious to eat. I am usually one to rush my food but not this time. It has been a long time since my wife and I have enjoyed such excellent food in such a relaxing ambience. We will be back.
