What can I say? We wanted to go to Mont Louis, but not many choices. They try hard but, needs an overhaul. Clean it, replace the linens, work on customer service! Either way, great views, and a lovely world UNESCO site nearby!

Room Tip: Not many choice but need to see Mont Louis!

All the rest is not worthy.
Old and noisy rooms.
The water changes from cold to hot all the time, so showers after skiing are uncomfortable.
Finally, the service is not good.
We really don't recommend the hotel

On arrival there was no one in reception - a waitress noticed me waiting and advised that someone would be with me in a minute. Several minutes later the receptionist arrived but "service" was v cool and unwelcoming. Clearly the hotel was not heavily booked because we were allocated a small "appartment" - the kitchen area was locked - but we had a decent sized double bedroom, good sized balcony, living room and bathroom - so the two of us had plenty of space to spread ourselves. Views absolutely stunning.

We have been staying here for 4 nights. A nice overall experience. Rooms has to be renewed as they may seems old but apart from this a good location and venue.
Swimming pool is very relaxing. An excellent menu with local cuisine and wines. A perfect place to relax.

Le Clos is one of those hotels that only survives by dint of there being very little competition locally. Basically it's overpriced for what it offers, completely out of date & the impression that you get is that they really don't give a s**t about you as there will always be another sucker behind you prepared to part with their money! We only booked it because we hadn't read the trip advisor reviews.... I don't know why, because we always read TA first, but we were busy & just saw that it was available. We avoided the food on offer at the hotel & had Supper & breakfast in the village nearby which was fine - at least dinner was : breakfast was poor & overpriced : where does €2.70 for a cold cafe seem like good value?
In short, this is the kind of hotel that was last re-furbed in 1972 & even has ash trays in the lift & hallway (although obviously not in use, even here) & represents the kind of place that drives American tourists nuts when they visit Europe.... & quite rightly so too. Only visit if you have a particular socio/historic fetish for 70's interiors (no they're really not cool or ironic.... just old!) & curt unfriendly service. Kids had an ok time in the pool/spa area, but it was small & like everything else here , in need of an update. Avoid if you can.

Booked online in the car while travelling from Prades on our way to Andorra. Really should have read the tripadvisor reviews. On arrival, we were greeted by a host of shoddy workmen's vans in the car park - we should have turned around from this truck stop while we had the chance. Our greeting at the reception was appalling: an unpleasant mix of French arrogance and bigotry. Whilst we are not fluent French speakers, my partner and I speak enough to get by. However, the rather repugnant woman who 'greeted' us could not have been more unfriendly. She spoke no English but thought it amusing to throw knowing glances to her French bar customers which were obviously derogatory to us. A French couple who stood at reception a the same time as us were given complete preference: including sycophantic smiles and fawning gestures. I cannot describe how angry I felt at not being able to tell this miserable woman just how disgusted I was, but my French isn't that good. We were led to believe our credit card had been debited online otherwise we would have happily slept in the car rather than grace this disgusting place with our money.

The room was equally as appalling as the 'welcome'. Although a good size, the bathroom smelt of cabbages - really. There was a shower, but no shower screen or fitting so I had to hold the shower head throughout. The laminate flooring would have been great had it not been applied to the walls - bizarre. To cap it all, we were kept awake all night by the noisy lift, water trickling somewhere and the air rattling through the unbled radiators.

In the days previous - and since the Clos Verdan - we have enjoyed some wonderful sights and amazing people. However, this appalling place serves only as a reminder that there are some truly awful people and experiences just around the corner if you don't do your homework!

We arrived with no reservations. For 3 adults we had an apartment with a view and with 2 separate bedrooms, a kitchen, dining room, and living room for a total price of $91. We used the pool and spa. It felt like a three star hotel with all the amenities. A pretty good dinner for $60 for the three of us. i am surprised at so many low ratings for it.
