We have been coming to Manorbier for years now and we always stop at the castle inn for a meal and a drink. The first time we came here the food, service, atmosphere and prices were excellent and still many years later that high quality is still being achieved! Also the perfect place to end a busy day with the friendly atmosphere, good quality real ales and modern juke box. Also a special thank you to Yvonne the head chef and manager and Daniel the waiter who always make us feel welcome and at home in this beautiful and serene part of Wales.

Thank you for your review, sorry about the confusion. Letting dogs into the pub has to be discretionary at the time, if they are small and will stay quietly under the table this is fine if the pub is not to busy, the problem comes when the pub is busy and bigger dogs want to come in. As you have visited the pub you will know that the pub is quiet small. We have a lovely large beer garden where dogs are most welcome. Thanks you for your custom which is appreciated we are trying our best to offer good food and great atmosphere and look forward to welcoming you to the castle in the future ( and your dogs !!). Thank you.

“Wondering if this pub is dog friendly or not?”
Reviewed April 4, 2014

My husband and I with our 2 spaniels visited the Castle in April 2013. We hope to go again in a few weeks time. The food was excellent and we would recommend.
The only downside was that we most definitely were not allowed to take our dogs into the pub itself, only into the beer garden (which yes, could do with a little TLC).
We enjoyed our meal greatly and the ale was excellent, but, it was a little chilly.

Clarification on this matter of dog friendly or not would be most helpful. We would still visit but of course only if we were fairly certain that our meal wasn't going to be rained upon.

If dogs were allowed admittance this would have a 4 or 5 star rating.

“Cracking little dog friendly pub!”
Reviewed March 13, 2014

Just back from a wonderful weeks break in Manorbier, Pembrokeshire. If you're in the vicinity then check out the very dog (and people) friendly Castle Inn. Great pub grub, good range of ales, a genuine 'happy hour', and, genuine warmth shown by the staff and locals alike. Staying across the road from the pub we ate (and drank) there most nights and, honestly, were not disappointed. In addition to the standard menu choice there were 'special' nights (curry/ homemade pies/ etc.,). All of which we thoroughly enjoyed. It's not clear from some reviews whether this is a dog friendly pub or not.... Well whatever it might have been it certainly is now......if you don't believe me then ask Toby our dog who was spoilt rotten every time he went there. Woof, woof.

“Home cooked food - makes the difference.”
Reviewed November 10, 2013

This is how pubs should be - a range of beers and wine, good atmosphere and friendly. A small menu but that just means everything is cooked fresh daily and with care rather than being taken out of a freezer and microwaved. The steak and ale pie is one of the best I've had. When we go back to Manorbier next year this will be my first port of call - it actually contributed to a great holiday.
