Recently opened in this small but chic French town which is not without other options. but already established as one of the best kitchens in Ceret. We had a superb lunch - a tuna steak done to perfection, served with one of the best ever risottos and beautifully cooked (but heavily seasoned) vegetables; an excellent ardoise of charcuterie with accompanying salad of tasty multi-coloured cherry tomatoes; and a seafood duo. Followed by two (a gesture towards the 'light lunch' to share) delicious sable biscuit based desserts, one a mirabelle tarte with mirabelle sorbet and the other red fruits, sorbet and chantilly. The nibbles while waiting were also exceptionally moreish. With 3 glasses of white wine and one coffee the bill was 83 Euro, which is at the top end for Ceret but seemed reasonable for such a lunch for 3.

The place has been very well done up and has a stylish and comfortable ambience. The hostess was charm, tact and efficiency personified. Our only reservation was the way her male co-host tended to stand around and pose, or rush off to kiss arrivals in the middle of taking your order which was mildly irrirtating the first time but plain rude the second. The tact of the hostess is more required than it should be if he was more professional.

Overall recommended, a very good new addition, Just try to get served by the lady rather than the man.

We and 2 friends dined here yesterday and it was superb. The food is excellent and beautifully presented. Fred and his wife are charming ,very attentive and informative about the menu and the service is impeccable. We had the 30 Euro menu and every course was delicious , although only a choice of 3 dishes but everything was made with fresh ingredients with great attention to detail. This is our 4th visit to Ceret and Fred's restaurant is certainly the best we have dined in and a great addition to the town. The picher of house red wine one of our party had was excellent value and quality and compared very well with wines costing considerably more. We shall certainly be returning to this excellent restaurant.

This is certainly the best restaurant in Ceret and possibly in this region. Service (by Fred and one other) is impeccable with real understanding of what it takes to make customers happy and excellent knowledge of the food offered. The 32 Euro menu (3 courses) is very good value and would cost 50 percent more in London. The cooking is inventive, uses really local and seasonal ingredients and is presented attractively. Unlike many French restaurants you actually get some vegetables with your meat or fish. Cannot praise this place enough.

Delicious food creatively prepared. The owners are warm, welcoming and attentive without being obtrusive.
We had the €30 menu which is now available to see on their website. Their philosophy is to do a small selection to perfection but unfortunately this does restrict the amount of visits in a short timescale. A note of caution, if you like your meat well done you need to emphasise this as our duck was just cooked even though we asked for it very well done.
