Recently opened in this small but chic French town which is not without other options. but already established as one of the best kitchens in Ceret. We had a superb lunch - a tuna steak done to perfection, served with one of the best ever risottos and beautifully cooked (but heavily seasoned) vegetables; an excellent ardoise of charcuterie with accompanying salad of tasty multi-coloured cherry tomatoes; and a seafood duo. Followed by two (a gesture towards the 'light lunch' to share) delicious sable biscuit based desserts, one a mirabelle tarte with mirabelle sorbet and the other red fruits, sorbet and chantilly. The nibbles while waiting were also exceptionally moreish. With 3 glasses of white wine and one coffee the bill was 83 Euro, which is at the top end for Ceret but seemed reasonable for such a lunch for 3.
The place has been very well done up and has a stylish and comfortable ambience. The hostess was charm, tact and efficiency personified. Our only reservation was the way her male co-host tended to stand around and pose, or rush off to kiss arrivals in the middle of taking your order which was mildly irrirtating the first time but plain rude the second. The tact of the hostess is more required than it should be if he was more professional.
Overall recommended, a very good new addition, Just try to get served by the lady rather than the man.
