We (with my wife and 2 yr old daughter) spent a week in this ground floor apartment in mid August 2013. The apartment really is lovely with 2 large bedrooms, both with ensuites and large open plan living/dining/kitchen which opens out into the courtyard garden.
The kitchen is modern and well equipped (we'd spent the previous week in a Spanish rental with a single wooden spoon and paring knife), in fact the whole apartment is really very well equipped with beach gear, lots of good books and a few games. It's comfy and clean. The garden is small but perfect for young children as it's enclosed (there's even a paddling pool) and has plenty of space for dining (with the sound of French families dining drifting from the adjacent properties).
Ceret itself is lovely and I think is the idealistic English view of every French small town. Lots of small streets with plenty of boulangeries and cafes through to some very good places to eat, the local manager of the property even arranged for us a babysitter for us so we were able to head out for a meal on our own one evening. There was live music somewhere almost every afternoon/evening we were there and various markets etc. The property is two minutes walk from bars and cafes but situated on a quiet street (although the vibrant Saturday market is literally right outside the front door).
Ceret is also ideally placed for heading out either into the hills or towards the beach, the local swimming lake was also excellent. It's really easy to get onto the main autoroute (although busy on changeover days)
All in all a great location and a great apartment, highly recommended.
