Cap D'Agde is a new town so you would not expect to find a museum bursting with Roman and Greek artifacts. BUT - for the last 40 years a group of local divers have been searching the coast line and the Herault River. In the sand they have found some stunning pieces. Ephebe - who the musee is named after might even be Alexander the Great - never mind the detail - this is a stunning near life sized bronze displayed with repect in an almost completely black room - wonderfully lit and you can also sit in a small tiered area to sit quietly and marvel. Two bronzes of young boys - one who might have been the son of Cleopatra and Mark Anthony are also wonderful. Many many other fine artifacts - give it a try and in the heat you might be grateful for the airconditioning!
