We stayed here in September In our touring caravan . Lovely place & campsite set amongst trees. The site was clean & the facilities where excellent. The beach was on the doorstep which was gorgeous with the Pyrenees in the backdrop. Fantastic cycle routes really flat & lovely views.

Ok 1st off we got this though groupon and as such ill review it based on the £129 we paid for the accommodation not the £317 advertised on Thomson's website.

The Accommodation

We stayed in the Vivaldi it was a bit dirty and was falling apart the baby gate was useless as the first touch and it would fall down the tap in the kitchen felt like it was about to fall off in your hand, on a plus note the shower was excellent.

The Site

Spotless, good location, but other than the pool nothing to do which i was a bit surprised about.

Now a very big negative the pool the pool its self is nice but the slides weren't on very often and and you have to wear lycra swim shorts.for me this ruined the holiday more than anything.

what i would say is for a week including petrol, road tolls, euro tunnel and accommodation it cost about £450 which i could have had 5 days in center parcs without the 13h drive and i most certainly wont ever visit one of these again.

My family and I stayed at Le Brasilia 6 years ago and had a wonderful time so we were a little perplexed by some of the reports and hoped that their standards had not dropped. I must say that our stay was first rate. We always book cabins and then directly from Yelloh as they always have the best cabins in the best locations on the site. Since we are a big family (2 adults, 3 15 year old triplets) we do not need the campsite entertainment and only went to the restaurant once, we found it good but nothing to write home about.
Read up on the area before you come as there is an abundance of things to discover for all ages but you will need a car to do any of them. Barcelona is a two hour drive away, the yellow train from Villefranche is 45 minutes away just to name two.
Back to the campsite....it has won every award going and they pride themselves on this. It is very, very clean and the beach is also cleaned by themselves every night. If your plans are to stay in this area then you will not be disappointed with Le Brasilia.

Overall a very clean well run campsite but we travelled with our touring caravan staying on one of the larger fully serviced pitches. Within a day the caravan and awning were covering in Pidgeon dirt from the trees above and we couldnt open our roof vents. Shower blocks were lovely and clean but so dimly lit it took energy saving to the extreme. Very strict around the pool - slides seemed to be switched off more than they were on and were on the small side for our 11 and 14 year old. Site probably better suited to families with younger children. Beach was lovely but watch out - the sea is chest deep very quickly and a yellow flat seemed to be the default setting in afternoon - excellent lifeguards but would have preferred a calmer sea! Wouldnt return again - somehow it seemed to lack atmosphere.

Okay, so I have visited Le Brasilia this year! - Let me tell you, not again.

Brasilia overall - A beautiful, and well kept campsite, the shower blocks are all landscaped with flowers, trees and VERY clean. There isn't a scrap of rubbish or dirt around, there are weekly gardeners who keep everywhere nice and neat.

The staff at the campsite, are some what.. rude and racist - the security are over the top and you feel on the edge the whole time, I understand they are doing a job, but it isn't necessary. Have had friends who have been told off for walking around shirtless with shorts on in the shower block, yet you can do this around the campsite in the shops and at the swimming pool? How silly. The restaurant is OVER priced, and sloppy. I HIGHLY recommend Le Swim which is at the edge of the beach, pricey but gorgeous!
The butcher is lovely, home made and gorgeous (just a word of warning, the food gets left out all day) just be cautious, however the staff are lovely in there.
The pizzeria is awful the pizza is doughy and tasteless, your best bet is to visit the roadside pizzeria which is the same price but MUCH better.
I have to compliment the lovely fresh fruit and veg shop, very reasonable and produce is usually sourced from the campsite, the lady who works in there is pleasant.
The supermarket has some great different produce but VERY expensive. I LOVE my english tea its 6 euros a box! CRAZY.
Natalie who works in the Tabac and paper shop is such a character and really lovely.
The wine cave is lovely, wine from the area for cheap prices, per litre prices from 1.95 euro up to 5 euro.. Francesca who owns the shop is a delight, friendly and loves a joke. They frequently have a wine tasting event in the square which you can't miss, as they introduce guest wines!
Entertainment - During the high season the entertainment varies from Grease, Sister Act, Lion King, Live music, Dj nights which is great and family friendly, you can bring along the kids and your dog!! The entertainment staff are lovely, great with the children and there costumes are always really good. There is also a disco from 10pm - 1 am. When there isn't high season the entertainment takes place on stage inside, with adequate seating inside and out.
The bar is VERY expensive, especially for beers such as Stella, Fosters, looking at 5 euros a pint, so is the sangria, jugs of pimms etc. Desperado is 4.50 euros for a small 33cl bottle, ludicrous! However the bar staff are very efficient and friendly and keep the area in a good working order.
If you are staying with Eurocamp in the V's.. near the perimeter fence I urge you that the adjacent campsite in high season is VERY noisy, disco, entertainment EVERY night till the small hours, children have been known to throw stones and are very anti social, i am warning you, it's not a nice experience for yourself. So specify in your booking to be placed in Z1, away from this. The campsite security are very efficient in dealing with anti social behaviour from the campsite next door, so speaking with them, can resolve it, although it still happens and isn't good, if you have small children/pets.

Overall, if you are holidaying with Eurocamp - specify Zone 1, this is close to amenities quiet and clean.. A nice campsite if you don't mind being in a Concentration Camp. A beautiful location, views of the Pyrenees from the beach, gorgeous clean beach. Well kept campsite, but SO strict. And I feel a little racism towards English tourists. Which isn't fair.

Room Tip: If you visit with Eurocamp specifiy Zone 1. Near amenities and nice and clean and quiet, all with ai...

Recently been to la Brasilia. advertised as great for teenagers, we have 11 and 14 kids not allowed into disco. 15 and over, be aware bar open in disco!!) dreadful evening entertainment nothing for parents, all designed for Dutch and French. Bus required to get into Canet Plage, only one restaurant very poor and very expensive. we found the permanent police like security very off putting, why are they required!!, reason outside the camp(located beside commercial port, not fishing port) not safe, busy road open to public runs into camp. definitely would not venture into Canet at night on foot.
14 year old charged adult prices everywhere! water slides very poor
Taxi service is as cheap as train bus but not available and no information provided.
WI Fi is extortionate. everything at rip off prices. Eurocamp facilities and accommodation a disgrace, old and tattered accommodation. Not only has this put us off Canet/ south of France we will be reluctant to return to France. Having been to France many times before this was without doubt the worst

Room Tip: go to resort "IN" Canet Plage

fantastic reps, fabulous Campsite, well worth every one of their 5 stars, spotless, great facilites, travelled with a 16, 12 and 9 yr old. great weather, on site super fresh fruit shop, bakery, grocery shop, take away, restaurant, laundry, clothes and beach shop, direct access to the beach, great shuttle service from the campsite to the nearby towns on the beach front. Al Fresco superb to travel and stay with, their reps were brilliant, so helpful and efficient,. visited Aqualand in St Cyprien, great day out. Tropical Crazy Golf in St Cyprien was great fun.
from booking to arriving to leaving we found the Al Fresco service to be fantastic, well done all.
On site our only minus was that the water slides were smaller than what we expected but it didnt spoil our holiday.

Room Tip: the food is excellent in the restaurant, check out the Forest Climbing nearby, for any keep fit love...
