The new owner is slowly redecorating and upgrading the hotel and grounds. Renovation is uneven. New bathroom sinks, new TV but generally room small and bed uncomfortable. Grounds not well manicured. There is also currently no elevator and no internet in the room (in the sitting room yes).

We enjoyed the lobster dinner (menu that evening mostly only 'homard', no meat or chicken on menu that day) but found it too expensive.

Overall, we found both the room rate and the restaurant over-priced, not as good value for money as other places where we stayed on this trip.

Stayed for a week at this hotel, which seems to have several names, on the Relais du Silence site its called 'Hôtel le Mas de la Plage et des Pins'. Henri, the owner, is very friendly and the staff are all lovely. We had a room with a terrace which was very good, lots of space, probably one of the most comfortable beds we've ever had in a hotel, although the finishing standard of the decor could have been better and there was an electrical light fitting coming away from the wall which looked dodgy. The bathroom was a fair size but desperately needed an extractor fan, but the shower was good with good pressure. Towels could have been better, slightly on the small size. Air conditioning was very efficient although noisy when coming on and off. Breakfast was disappointing, consisted of coffee/tea/chocolate/orange juice plus a plate of bread and pastries and a natural yoghurt. I love my croissants in France so was very disappointed, and we both like fresh fruit for breakfast if at all possible. After the 5th day I was sending my partner out for croissants from the local pattisserie. Small but adequate pool, plenty of sun beds as most people don't seem to stay around the hotel during the day. Good location, only 5 mins from the beach and various restaurants and cafes. We only ate at the hotel the first night which unfortunately was not a good night to pick because it was quite windy and most of us started off outside but had to move indoors which meant the waiting staff were very busy and we were sat at our table for an hour with no drink or bread, needless to say we didn't eat there again. Overall a very pleasant stay and much nicer than staying in a large anonymous hotel.
