On an evening out to the opera at San Galgano we took the recommendation of the reviews for Dai Galli nearby in Ciciano and we were in for a treat! (The other reviews so far are in Italian so hopefully this one will encourage more English-speakers to seek out this wonderful trattoria in the Tuscan hills). It's an ideal stop on a day-trip taking in San Galgano or before an evening event at San Galgano which is only 10 minutes drive away. The restaurant is easy to find and there is plenty of free parking right next door (always a plus).
This was one of our favourite restaurants in Tuscany. Mum is in the kitchen cooking her own special home recipes, including Pollo Sbronzo - which was excellent and you won't find it anywhere else - in fact, almost all of the menu was home made. Daughter is out front with a warm welcome and great humour. All four of us ate very well. The home-made pasta was a real treat and it was all good value.

To top it off the 12 Note blues duo were performing on the terrace that evening so we had a ball before zipping off to see Don Giovanni! Highly recommended.
(Top tip: If you're driving down from Siena go up through Chiusdino, stop at the top and enjoy the magnificent view before going on to Dai Galli in Ciciano for dinner).
