My visit to Sully's was a disappointing experience. Although the decor and the appearance of the pub promises the pleasant warm ambience that draws so many people to Irish pubs, this pub in my view is simply a French bar with a few overpriced beers thrown in. The Guinness is too expensive for the quality at nearly eight euros a pint and poured way too quickly. I have had better Guinness from cans in Carrefour for one euro seventy eight cents. The service was efficient but certainly not friendly. People just doing their jobs without a smile or a friendly word. The staff could not wait to get to the end of their shift and started cleaning up, and stacking tables at 12.30 although the pub is advertised as staying open until 1.00 am. I was quite curtly removed of my drink by the Barmaid at 12.50 and given a go cup and my marching orders. If the bar closes at 1.00 am, should not the cleanup happen after that time, why not be honest and revise closing time to 12,30. I do not intend to return to O Sully's and will not recommend it to my overseas visitors. Fitzpatricks in Montpellier and The Celt in Carcassonne are much friendlier places that exude the true atmosphere of an Irish pub, where a person is acknowledged, welcomed and made to feel at home.
