Firstly I would like to write about the biggest problem: reaching this hotel without a car! Never count on arriving there after 10 pm!!! There is no (believe me!!) hotel-van "Navette" from the ETAP to pick you up, so you have to find out another way take the IBIS-hotel-van... it s 2 minutes from the ETAP), and after 10:30 pm, there is no way at all to arrive at this hotel - neither at this area. Why? There are no NAVETTES after this time! (You`ll be able to make an reservation for NAVETTE in the morning.... every 30 minutes for 5€ to ORLY) And there s also no way to get a taxi because the proximity of the hotel(s). I tried about 20 times to get a taxi, and all the guys were answering: "Paris? No? No!" Don`t pay 50€ which are asking for some taxi-drivers!!! In fact, they have to take you, but it`s France ;-) Finally I found a taxi after 1 hour in the coldy rain, because a joined a lady with her two little kids, and the driver felt pitty…

Arriving the Etap after 11pm, make sure to have your reservation-code. But don`t mind if you got it: the system will probably not work! Even with a code! To get entrance to the parking and reach the entry of the hotel behind the gate, you can succeed in with your VISA (etc.). Then you`ll come to the proper entry of the hotel, which is likely closed. So you call a kind of emergency office, and a nice lady will tell you what to do… There`ll be no personal in the hotel to help, so you HAVE TO speak the emergency-hotline!

The rooms are clean, new and there is enough space. You`ll have a TV, which can be used as your alarm, and the facilities in the room functione very well. It`s not too loud because of the new windows. But never open them ;-)

Lastly the best: you`ll have free INTERNET with Wifi, which is quite nice to have in such a class.

So know all these facts, and you`ll have a good stay!

We selected this hotel because of the extraordinary good price, and since we travelled by car, we thought that the location is not very important, it was OK to drive 15 minutes to the center of Paris. But we were wrong! The last night we returned to the hotel at 1am, and the parking lot within the fenced hotel area was completely full. Right outside the main gate there was a car with a smashed window already! Of course I did not want to take the risk of a smashed window (my car has Swiss number plates, which even raises the risk!), so I parked in an illegal space inside the fenced area (but not blocking anybody else). The hotel manager was not too pleased about my choice the next morning, even though I removed the car from this location at 7h30.

The room was real simple, Etap-Style. Breakfast, well, what can you expect for EUR 4.70? Very simple. There are several dinner options. The hotel provides 15 % discount vouchers for the Ibis restaurant and the courte paille restaurant. There is also a Mac Donalds nearby and some other hotels which may have restaurants. There is also a disco in the area which robbed our sleep on Saturday night.

Would I recommend this hotel? No! Because I think that yelling at a client is the wrong attitude. Ultimately it is the hotel's responsibility to provide sufficient secure parking space, the client can't be blamed. There are other hotels nearby, I am sure you can find similar rates there.

We visited Paris during the Easter weekend this April. Our plan was to arrive in Paris after spending a couple of days in Nice. Our flight was to arrive at the Orly airport in Paris, late in the night at 1030 pm, so we booked the Etap Hotel Rungis which is close to the Orly Airport (at least that is what the website made it out to be!).
We had expected the hotel to be really close to the airport - something like a 10 min walk or a 5 min bus ride. The reason we expected this was that the Etap Hotel we stayed at in Nice was right opposite the Cote d' Azur Airport in Nice - just a 5 minute walk!
When we landed in Orly at 1030 (by the time we came out, it was almost 1115 in the night - thanks to a delay caused due to a perceived threat an "unattended" piece of luggage had caused!), we were in for a shock!
There was no Etap in sight, we saw a bus with its destination as Ibis, we asked the driver, he said he goes nowhere near Etap! So here we were almost at midnight with a hotel room booked in advance but not knowing how to reach it!
We asked in the Information desk in the airport only to be told that the only option was to take a taxi as there was no bus going in the direction of our hotel!
Then we luckily asked another bus driver who pointed in the direction of a board which said "Shuttle" buses from Hotels Mercure and Ibis. We decided to try our luck and decided to wait there.
That was a good decision as about 10 minutes later, the shuttle bus did arrive - but not at the designated place near the board but some 50 metres away (another stroke of luck that we spotted it!!!.
We were not sure though if we would be welcome on the bus as we had booked at Etap and not at Ibis or Mercure. So we asked the driver and he said he is going to Rungis in the French accent! We knew we had to go there so we said we want to go there and sat in the bus. The journey to the hotel took about 20 minutes. That is when we realised that we had made a big mistake about not finding out more about the location before booking a room there!
Once we reached the hotel we had to make the payment in the automatic machine outside the hotel as there is no receptionist after 10 in the night. The machine is a nice piece of technology as it accepts your card, and hands you a receipt containing your room code which you need to enter your room.
The room itself is sufficient for 2 people with one double bed and one bunker (mainly for kids) and a functioning wash basin and bathroom.
The stay was pleasant. The receptionist was very courteous and spoke good English! The breakfast was decent with bread and jam and butter and orange and coffee/tea!
Overall I would recommend the hotel with the only problem being the distance from the airport. You cannot get any bus and have to depend completely on the shuttle to travel from and to the Airport! Of course, if you have your own car, none of this should be a problem!
