“great hotel but a bit out the way”
Reviewed February 11, 2010

great hotel photos show you exactly what you get, basic breakfast but all you need to keep you going, hotel is approx 5-6 minutes from Hoche metro station which takes you wherever you want to go in paris.there is also a supermarket about 4 minutes from hotel where you can stock up on basic food stuff, there is a market along from the supermarket. a few good restaurants nearby are quite reasonably priced, but the hotel restaurant is especially nice good choice for a break away although a bit out the way ,

My friends and I stayed in this hotel during new year's eve in 2009. Overall, the hotel is clean, rooms are average and they have all the basic amenities like free internet at the lobby, breakfast, a restaurant and etc.

One drawback is the location of this hotel. Though the train stations (Hoche and Pantin) are only less than 10 mins away, the walk to the stations was quite unpleasant. We were in a group of 10 walking towards the Hoche station and one of my friends got robbed by a snatch thief in broad day light. In fact, this was the 2nd case of robbery that happened near or in the hotel within hours. A group of Japanese tourists were robbed right in front of the hotel lobby in the morning! with pepper stray!!

Guess the neighborhood is not a very safe one. We validated this with the police and the embassy staff (as my friend's passport was gone) and they mentioned that this place is pretty notorious. But, of course, robbery happens in Paris everyday and to anyone on the street. However, just want us to be aware of these things in case it ends up ruining your holiday. I am sure the hotel will work with the local police to have more security. Have to say the hotel staff were extremely helpful during this incident.

This hotel is fantasic!!Very relaxing....lap of luxury, jacuzzi was fantastic after a long freezing day out and about travelling around Paris..

This hotel only has one fault and that is the location...it is far out from the centre of Paris, but you can take the metro everywhere and its very cheap!

I actually got engaged at this hotel....it means a lot to me and my fiance!!

We stayed there for five days in October and thought it was great!

I was there with my two daughters, aged 7 and 10 months - so we had a cot which took up a corner of the room.

Yes, the beds are sofa beds, but I thought that was good, as it meant you can fold them out of the way during the day and have much more room to move about - especially good for my little crawler. They were also very comfortable although very narrow - 2' 6"! I haven't slept in a 2' 6" bed since university!

However, I think one of them (ours were twin beds) was faulty as I found it hard to fold away without trapping my fingers painfully, whereas the other went away fine.

The bathroom was spotless and very big and nice.

The hotel has free wifi - I couldn't log onto it at first but when I mentioned it at the desk the girl said they thad some problems buit she would reboot the system and it should be OK soon. I waited 10 mintues and then could log on fine. However, the free wifi comes with adverts and having to re log on every five minutes, which is a real pain.

The little kitcheny cupboard is good - there is a hot plate which was quite easy to use - once I figure out it wasn't actually plugged in and that was why it wasn't working! There is also a very good value supermarket just around the corner which sells fresh milk - they only have UHT milk in the hotel, no good for making baby breakfasts with!! The UHT milk was the only complaint about the food I had - the breakfasts were very nice. And they have high chairs.

The metro station Hoche is minutes away with links to the central Paris attractions. On the way to the station you may find an outdoor market - it wasn't there every day but they have lots of bargains. There are also some restaurants in the area although we didn't try them.

The staff were great! Most of them speak English to varying degrees but they were very friendly and helpful. We were the only English family that we saw there, but we were made to feel very welcome.

  • Liked — Clean and comfortable
  • Disliked — The sofa bed bit me! And the wifi comes with adverts

I stayed at this hotel on Trafalgar tour. It was a decent hotel with A/C and elevators. The part of town is sketchy and unfortunately it is in NE Paris, far from City Center. If you are booking your own hotel, stay closer in town.

A great find - the hotel is about 10 mins by metro from the centre of Paris - but with a nightly rate of 65 Euros it is certainly a bargain.

I would imagine that the hotel has recently been refurbished - the room (1st floor) was immaculate with modern contemporary furnishings - a bit on the small side but I was only there to sleep so I am certainly not complaining.

Breakfast was vast - a good extensive buffet.

Hotel staff were friendly and tended to be mutli-lingual.

The hotel is located in a fairly edgy part of town - although I felt perfecly safe and was not troubled by anyone. I guess - like anywhere - the key is to look purposeful and not obviously like a toursis!!

The Park almost opposite is lovely - at the back of the Park there is a Canal which leads into the start of the Canal St Martin - I walked all the way to the Marais in less than an hour - including a coffee stop - this was off the tourist trail but great!

One tip - by metro get off at Hoche -under five mins walk away and on the same road as the hotel - this avoids the need to negotiate the underpass of the Periphique if you had got off at Pantin!!

  • Liked — Cheap clean and modern
  • Disliked — Wish it was more central - but at those prices!!!!
